Keith Romanowski Come Up photo retrospective part 2.

Part 2 of the Keith Romanowski Come Up photo retrospective is up now after the jump. Lots of classic photos from Mexico, SF, Megatour and even a couple of cat shots.

Last summer Sunday took Keith and I to Guadalajara with them for a trip. It was awesome. Mexico street is amazing, the night life is insane, the girls are sooo hot and the kids we rode with were losing their mind when they met Aaron Ross. This was the day of a big street jam that Jim organized. I got pretty drunk with this flatland dude and apparently I put a pair of girl’s underwear on my head, although I have no recollection of this happening. Look how stoked everyone is!

This lady is married to the owner of a bike shop in Guadalajara… somehow that didn’t stop her from making it VERY clear that she wanted to have sex with Aaron, Kurt and pretty much everyone else on the trip. All the local riders out there knew she was looking to get banged and they all thought it was hilarious, and somehow her husband either didn’t care or didn’t get it. She was having everyone sign her Sunday shirt and I wrote “Adam22: Sunday Pro” on it.

Young Beezy from Boston kept cranking at this set up and bunnyhopping right next to that pole. He wasn’t really hopping high enough but decided to go for it anyway. He cleared the pole and the stairs and was no doubt wearing his legendary Wu Tang sweatshirt at the time. I have never in my entire life seen someone wear one piece of clothing as much as Beezy wears that fucking hoodie.

Some of the controversy surrounding Blackman really helped get a lot of people to pay attention to The Come Up. He is one of the funniest dudes I know and even though I came pretty close to killing him on Megatour, I can’t hate him. Most people say the same thing, as fucked up as he is, you just can’t hold it against him because he’s so fun to hang out with most of the time. He made Keith take this photo after the big Zoo York race saying that this girl was his “sister” ( she wasn’t ) outside of Post.

When my ex girlfriend got some cats while we lived together, it was only a matter of time til I got obsessed with them and started posting about them. Although I love all of the cats, I picked out Tony and he’s my favorite. He is so beautiful, but is actually one of the grumpiest, meanest cats ever. Everyone falls in love with him because all you want to do is pet him but if you try he will scratch and kick you til you bleed. I don’t really get to see him much anymore since I have serious beef with his mom but whenever I do I can never stop smiling because he’s so funny. When I moved out of our apartment, he showed his loyalty by pissing and shitting all over her bed numerous times. In this photo he is shown watching over a sleeping Joof, visibly upset that the house was torn apart by our night of partying.

Tony loves to eat out of the trash or eat off your plate if you look away momentarily. Keith saw him buried in a bag of Mcdonalds and instead of stopping him, did the true photographer thing and took some photos.

On this night I learned an important lesson… you can get drunk, and you can get high, but getting really drunk and really high at the same time is a bad idea. I didn’t pass out or throw up that night but I was in another world and pretty much just sat there zoned out the whole night. Joof and Keith were happy to watch and laugh at me the whole time. Oh and I don’t know how the guitar got there, I’ve never played that game in my life.

Scallion… not sure what to say about him. When I first met him, he literally never said a word so I assumed he was retarded. Since then he has started talking a lot more, probably due to hanging out with Muffinman so much. The best is when you get him around Day Day because they both constantly try to one-up each other with how black they can act. It pretty much becomes a full fledged ignorance session and it’s always funny. One time I saw them both simultaneously burst into the Superman That Hoe dance from the Soulja Boy video when they heard the song out of a moving car.

I definitely think having a Come Up trip on Megatour was one of the coolest things I’ve gotten a chance to do since I started the site. The video and the article I wrote for Ride UK both came out awesome. Here I am interviewing Tony the cat who mysteriously appeared on the last day of the trip.

I originally had these shirts made to give away on Megatour. Somehow, between going to jail and losing my mind due to stress, I forgot to give most of them away so I sold them in the web store and they sold out pretty quick. Right after we took this photo that kid said “I’m gonna regret this” in his squeaky little voice. Since then, numerous people have told me that if Tony was a person, he would look like that kid.

The San Fran roadtrip we did happened pretty spontaneously just because I had always wanted to ride there. Meeting Eddie, getting to ride all those legendary spots and getting to see how all those dudes out there live made it completely worth it. Keith was on the phone the entire time so he probably doesn’t even remember being there.

I spotted this guy at the corner store near Eddie’s apartment one night and he was wearing a Shadow Conspiracy shirt. He had no idea what it was but I knew I had to take a photo to show Ronnie. Ronnie has been sponsoring the site since very close to it’s start and has helped me out with a lot of stuff, from business decisions, to distributing the DVD.
