After a slight ball-up yesterday in terms of getting these Cult interviews posted, we are back in business today. You know what that means, Robbie’s interview is finally getting posted tomorrow, and the Cult trailer is going up Friday. Is Cult really funded by Tony Hawk? Is Dakota’s only clip in the trailer a feeble to toothpick tap down a 4 stair ledge? Is Chris Moeller going to put in a call to Bill Gates and shut down the internet before Robbie’s interview gets posted? All those questions and more will be answered, but for now just read Hawk’s interview.

So I know you’ve had to answer this question a million times already, but what made you want to split off with Robbie and do this Cult thing instead of staying safe over at Fit?

To be honest it really wasn’t that hard of a decision for me, I’ve known Robbie since when I used to race so when he told me there was a chance to do something like this I was really excited. I couldn’t be more psyched on everyone involved with the company and I cant wait to see where things go from here. my time spent at Fit was great and I appreciate everything that everyone has done for me over there, but this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.

You had a signature frame amongst other signature stuff on Fit, did that make the decision harder?

No it didn’t make it any harder, don’t get me wrong it was an honor to have a signature frame but it played no part in my decision. I have full commitment that all the CULT products will be amazing so I’m not worried.

How is everything going aside from the sponsor change, are you traveling this Winter much or just sticking around Austin?

Everything for the most part is pretty good, my shoulder has been giving me trouble for the last month and a half so that kinda sucks I’ve been trying to work through that. Other than that we have our first official CULT trip planned for the last week of January so I cant wait for that. Our plans are to make a 10 to 15 minute edit from that trip so we’ll see how that turns out, should be sweet. In addition to that we are still working on the new Empire video.

How do you feel about how your Stay Fit section came out? Was it odd watching it given that you had already quit by the time it came out?

Nah it wasn’t too weird. I’m pretty psyched on it, I mean I know it’s nothing special but I had fun filming for it ha. To tell you the truth I think I filmed well over half my part in the last month, my plan was to just have a short 2 minute part but it ended up being a lot longer.

Kids have been asking about that Cult hat you were wearing at Interbike, which is pretty funny because it was obviously a one off that you had embroidered, right? Any chance you’re going to produce a bunch more and be selling them on the low without Robbie’s consent???

Haha yea it’s a one-off, me and my friend Adam made ‘em at the embroidery shop in the mall. I got a few boxes at my house if anyone wants one hit me up.

I heard it through the grapevine that although you were supposed to have a part in the upcoming Anthem 2 video, that now you won’t. True or false, any reason why?

True. I don’t want to go into all the details but basically I just wanted to put all my time into filming for the next Empire video.

I’m with my friend and I asked him if he had any good questions for me to ask you and he said “ask him something about girls. Like something that will make him uncomfortable. Ask him how many girls him and Aaron (Ross) bring back to the house nightly”.

Haha that shit don’t make me uncomfortable, Aaron probably talks to more girls than I do just because he’ll sit there and listen to all the stupid shit they have to say. I won’t, I still get my fair share though, I’m not hurtin’ haha.

I know you did a whole interview about your new prototype Cult frame in Ride UK this month, but how is it running? Any substantial differences between this frame and your old Fit frame?

Man I haven’t really gotten a chance to ride it a whole lot because I’ve been trying to get my shoulder better but it feels great to me. It’s definitely a little bigger and beefier than my last frame so that’s kinda nice. I love the way the raw with no clear coat looks with black parts too, kinda rusty.

Are you worried about Jon Peacy being able to out-party you on a hypothetical Cult roadtrip?

Haha peacy is a fuckin’ kook and yes he could probably out-party me.
