by adam on 07/29/10

Cult Tweeted this photo today of some American made prototype cranks. I’d assume they are being made by Solid.

  1. profile did it…

    • doesn’t matter what any of the haters say, whether the name/logo/art direction sucks – fact is the dvd they just dropped is seriously fucking heavy. best vibe on a vid for a while. so watchable. robbie is a legend from way back. team is dope. i’m with it.

    • cry about it pussy^^

    • you crying coz the last pussy you saw was yo momma’s and she was trying to squeeze you out of it coz she didn’t want you in it.

    • Most women would like for their baby to come out…but maybe you’re mama should’ve put you back cos you’re not done yet!

  2. will they come in 170mm?

  3. look awesome, american made, kinda prince albertish

    • Who seriously gives a fuck about American made?? Taiwanese metalworkers are just as skilled and most likely more efficient…

  4. cranks made by someone else using zero innovations??

    DO WANT

  5. That’d be sweet if they were made by Solid. I love the Solid Bitch cranks

    • Ya theyre good- people should just buy those. Or Cult should just buy Solid or other way round.
If all Cult is putting out is Solid stuff anyway.

  6. oh sweet, another set of cranks no different then the other ones… made in the usa though, like that really matters

the bike building industry sucks, go get a better job

    • or you can just quit. you seem to be contributing 0 to the bmx industry other than complaining about stuff that’s not even out yet. get a life.

    • So is this Adam Roye or Robbie? Because statistically speaking a negative impact on the industry is worse than zero impact…

    • Is this Robbie or Roye? Statistically speaking negative impact to the industry is worse than zero impact…

    • Probably both together… It smells real bad.

    • there is no negative impact. just a bunch of bandwagon haters. none of you have any legit reason to hate on cult. most of you talk shit about Robbie so the hate from fit carries over to cult. nothing is wrong with the company because its a bike company that sells parts. find people that hate their cult products and then there would be a negative impact.

    • My “legit” reason to hate on cult is that the products are sub-par but the prices would suggest otherwise! There are people that hate their cult parts, I thought Robbie said that cult products were built to last?? Corporate lies…

    • so why buy them if you now hate them? it’s a waste of money. i don’t see what they’re doing wrong because their shit seems to be priced pretty decently and they have a pretty decent warranty from what i heard so i don’t see why they suck so bad. but they just don’t have the shit i like to run. low frames aren’t my thing, and the parts just aren’t what i prefer to run.

    • my badboy’s been going strong for 6 months now and i have no problem with any of my other cult parts comparing that to my last fit frame that i bent the second day i rode it i wold say that’s pretty damn good.

  7. i’m still waiting for this cult ‘take over’. the only people who run cult parts are the team…

  8. Those are the Solid Bitch cranks. Smart move, they’ll sell a lot more with Cult stamped on them.

    • and if they name them “Fat Bitch Cranks”

    • no they’re not solid bitch cranks and look nothing like them. nice observation though.

    • they look almost identical dumb ass

    • Name (Required) you are obviously someone integral to cult, the fact that you are wasting your time replying to 14 year old haters on the internet says a lot about Cult’s business model; make shitty parts for cheap but create an image which coerces kids into blowing their hard earn money on them

    • Name (required); you are clearly someone integral to cult, quit wasting your time on the internet replying to bored kids with nothing better to do and make a product that isn’t an overpriced shitheap…

    • i don’t own a cult part on my bike. but i pay attention to details and because i do that i can see obvious differences in other companies products.

    • would these details you speak of be the lack of finish on all cult products making them less durable? Or would that be the ridiculous price you have to pay for them?

    • only 2 things lack a finish in the cult line.

  9. Looks like some ugly ass Schwinn XS cranks

  10. do not look like xs cranks
    cult take over hahaha ok.
i hate stuff that’s doing well too guys.

  11. how are all you idiots loving these gay cult trendy cranks when you havent even seen a finished product or rode them? dumbasses

  12. cult is the gayest thing that ever happened to bmx
fuck all the trendy faggs who rock it……STAY FIT

  13. bitch ass haters should do their own company and se how it does

  14. Guys. Seriously, how much can you possibly change the design of a crank? If they are strong and light, then that’s all that matters. The reason pretty much all bmx cranks look like this is cos they work.

    • well let’s see, you could spend some time trying to create a crank that would challenge the best quality cranks in the industry in strength to weight ratio and durability; see Eclat. OR you could waste no time and throw out a set of cranks that will most likely be rusty when you get them and pay the same amount for them as you would for a far better pair…

  15. so whats the deal? unfinished and no clearcoat, cut corners in production but still sell at same price of high end parts because of the image cult has created? Skateboarding should not be emulated in the bmx world, a lot skateboarders think their shit don’t stink and that as long as they look cool and “act chill” then their opinions and actions are of more worth than those who “ain’t chill”. Typical artificial Cali image crap…quit wasting resources and put your mind into factors of production rather than marketing and image you fat cunt.

    Sincerely,
    Nobody.

  16. The booklet that comes with the Cult DVD is hilarious!! Robbie and Adam are such tools!

    • I know right! The Cult riders deserve better…

    • true that Cult is the most generic brand in a long time.n How many more products can you slap that shittty logo on before you actually have to design one?

    • HVAE YOU NOT SEEN STRANGER?! You fuckwit.
Theres a lot more trendy brands out there.
Cult are doing there own thing and loving it and making a ton of cash.
Have any of you faggots even seen the SAVAGE cult dvd or ridden the parts? DIDNT FUCKIN think so!
Your all just jumping on thecomeup’s bandwagon and hating on cult.
      GO FUCKIN RIDING DICKWADS

    • get piffed and 369 everthing…..stranger is homies with robbo and cult…
rich edited the stay fit dvd,
and 40 stacks later, he started STRANGER.
did it ever occur to you that THE TWO NEWEST NAMES IN BMX STARTED RIGHT AT THE SAME TIME FOR THE MOST PART????? and isnt also weird that the DUDES who grabbed BMX by the balls have the same first letter in their name?

      RICH
      and
      ROBBO

      hmmmmmm…….

      go tweet that shit
its bout to turn into a conspiracy….

    • WOW! You really are a massive idiot. Do you realsie how dumb what you just said is. SURE Rich and Robbo are mates, and they started simillar companies at the same time, BUT a FUCKING conspiracy? GTFO prick.
      CULT RULES

    • Stranger is a lot more thought out and does more for the industry imo. The designs and products are a lot more unique and the approach Rich takes is a breath of fresh air in the BMX world.

  17. 9 arms one spindle, innovative.

  18. the question really is….
why is this company (CULT) buying and marketing all the parts that THESE in HOUSE AMERICAN MADE COMPANIES cant sell, and try and add some steez with only a new logo/sticker?
sounds like that dude that started 4bikes…..brad whatever the fuck…..
didnt he buy out all the un-sold sharp frames and put some stickers on em and claim he made em??? then again he did intentionally get hit by a car so he could bank out a few stacks…
hate robbo for this, but i look at it as recycling… thats cool in my book.

go ahead and hate robbo for this, but i look at it as recycling… thats cool in my book. good job trailboss…keep it going. shits of the wall and way tight!!!!

  20. If they come RAW like their frames its nothing to do with a look its just cult saving money on painting/ lacquering frames starting off as a new company its a pretty smart move but everyone who buys there products will has rusty as fuck parts lol

Not hating tho loving what cult are doing, the new dvd is hell! :)

  21. look exactly like the united value cranks which still havnt let me down in 16 months

  22. funny how people can bitch from the sidelines, the parts are raw because the team likes em that way, simple as that.we pay our riders really well, above industry standard, we help many riders with product and travel and give them a chance to live BMX and ride, and you say CULT is the worst because of Adam’s logo and Robbie’s weight, you guys are the worst thing to happen to BMX, hateful negative shit talkers who do nothing for the game and will be out of it soon.Get fucked.

  23. yeayea everyone lighten up. its just bike riding anyway, not a huge oil spill in the gulf.

  24. i think everyone is just fucked, they’re prototypes children. they might have paint they’re just raw because(GASP) they’re still in the prototype stage.

cult is doing what they do. the team is good and they seem to vibe well together.

if you hate cult you are just as trendy as you make them out to be. because the trendiest thing to do is hate cult.

  25. Pretty funny how much bile can be drawn from you set of tools over a pair of fucking bicycle cranks, You must really have literally zero going on in your lifes to get this wound up.
incidentally those of us who have been in the game long enoungh to remember running 4 piece bars in a non-ironic way, know that cult are probably the best new company to come along for a very long time, kind of reminisscent of early fit and T1, it didn’t all used to be about branding and “colorways” children.

  26. i own a cult stem…..Its my second one because the first one broke the week i had it…..now the new one just slips. fuck cult.

  27. cult puts zero effort into their products. tell me this, why would i spend 500 bucks on a raw and rusty cult frame, when i could get a wtp frame with invenstment casting and proper powder coast for less money? its called technology, it makes a better product.

keep on packing your products in fucking lunchbags cult… F for effort, F for products.

    • Yo Robbie or whichever paranoid PR guy is reading this, take note; people don’t want to pay more money for a worse quality product!! Enough of conforming to the image based culture of mainstream America!

    • the difference is people riding some of these frames out there will most likely go through a few of them before they go through one CULT frame. just because something looks nice and innovative doesn’t mean its always gonna stand up. that’s one point behind CULT is to make something that looks good AND will hold up opposed to these parts that look like bad science projects to make it look fancy and save weight. and keep hating on the raw yet not rusty frames since powder coated versions are already being processed. http://yfrog.com/8bujnzj keep hating on nothing to hate on.

  28. Niggas be droppin knowledge.

  29. cultcranks breaking soon due to slobbo’s fatass. dr. pepper is now sponsoring his diatbetes

  30. last time i checked paint doesn’t make metal any stronger so i’m pretty sure not painting it doesn’t change the quality of the frame. get some spray paint and give it your own paint job if you hate raw so much. quit bitching about everything.

  31. Cool cranks .why so much HATE, it doesnt make sence if you like it buy it, run the parts if you dont like it ride what you like

  32. Oh I love cult, my dream is to one day ride for cult and be best friends with chase hawk. I love him, and robbo, he’s my all time favorite corporate big wig. He dressed so snazzy aswell!

Don’t forget about the frame, it is the best frame to come out on the market since the days when Standard was a respected company. My lord I wish Standard was still about.

In my opinion though, Cult is the next standard – It’s made by good people and the owners are amazing. The team needs to have a few more riders, like Scotty Cranmer and Daniel Dhers to really make an impact on street riding these days.

Those two alone are REAL street riders. Google them, you will be amazed with their skills.

God I love cult, I’m going to spend my next pay on everything they have, throw out my clothes and only wear.. “CULT”.

  33. i don’t see why people dont just run profile cranks. they’ve been around forever, have had the same design forever, and will last forever. just a bunch of 14 year old kids wanting to be different and spend their parents money on some shit cranks

  34. you guys should make them a little more squared

  35. HOW is cult trendy its a whole new take on a bmx company, no ones done anything like this in years, why does everyone hate adam royes stuff? i bet half of you fuck wits bought a hawk frame or an empire sticker or shirt well adam roye designed the logos for both, And why no paint? coz it looks cool as do black and polished stuff this is bmx not a topman t-shirt, Robbo and Joe Rich started the whole raw frame look anyway with the T1 prototype frames back in 98 and guess who designed the graphics??? ROBBO he also designed the primo Dirt monster which was about as popular as a bmx part has ever been before BMX WAS FULL OF WHINING KIDS Instead of moaning on Here why dont you actually go out and ride or try and start your own bmx brand then you’ll really start crying
