Introducing The S&M “A.T.F.”

S&M put up some photos of their new frame, the ATF today. So just for the record, first there was the HAF (Heavy As Fuck), then the LAF (Light As Fuck), then the LTF (Lighter Than Fuck) and we’re still waiting on the WTF (you’re on the internet, I shouldn’t have to explain this one) and now the ATF which according to the site stands for Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the finer things in life. Not much info on the site about this frame, but it says it will be coming soon.

    it’s the frame they base their pro models on. check the custom section of the s&m site, where it says it stands for “all terrain frame”.

    They never had a HAF, who would advertise their frame as heavy as fuck? If I recall correctly, in the 90′s when frames were 7 to 8 pounds, everyone was still claiming they were light. I dont know how we got to the point where 4 lb frames are stronger than our older 8 lb frames. I have a macneil miron that has a cracked headtube, I’m talking about the original miron. Yet my superstar seems to take far more abuse now that I go bigger than when I was younger, and it looks mint.

    550.00 buys you a custom S&M frame. 369.00 buys you a frame that has the best tubing in the world (seamless, butted, supertherm), hand welded by an american that rides bmx, in a factory that is owned by a bmxer that lives in California. Where as you can spend 300 to 400+ on a frame that is made with sanko tubing, welded by somone that may not have eaten or slept in the past 24hours, in a factory that makes all the other frames ie, WTP, KINK ect. And is owned by who? and where do they live? Ever paid to ship a frame to taiwan? Ain’t cheap, so add that in too the “value”. You can have your mass- produced frame that has a middle man mark-up and shipping fees. I’ll spend my money on craftmanship and quality.

    didnt have a haf ha ive got one still not been rode for thirteen years but still lookin ok apart from the brake mounts it just a frame now these days.
