the reason they break so much is intaller error. the wedge cluster begins to sparate and the elasticity of the band begins to weaken. its all of incorrect positioning, taking them on and off more than you need to or just from lack of maintenence. hoenstly, it happens with any crankset from any company, the abuse of hammers, mallets, coping you name it. its just now, they arent protected welds unlike older versions of cranks that are still around. just take care of your shit and if it aint broke dont fix it!
