Oh lord. If you haven’t seen the new Ride To Glory DVD, this won’t make sense to you. But basically one of the challenges on the trip was to hit someone from another team with an egg. Ben Hennon chucked an egg. It hit Jim C in the head. Jim gave Ben a piece of his mind (some might call it a meltdown) that culminated with the words “go fuck a girl with your dad” (because apparently, Ben Hennon really did fuck a girl with his dad even though he denies it here). Side note, Jim’s meltdown was pretty much all anyone talked about the whole time I was in the UK last week.
I can’t really blame Jim for his reaction though. Getting hit with an egg must suck and is blatant disrespect, but to someone in his position, there’s no good response. So who’s at fault? Whoever wrote the challenges for Ride To Glory, if you ask me, that’s just a shitty thing to encourage people to do. This shit was made by that company Alone, who I didn’t even know still existed (Frank Macchio and Jake Seeley used to ride for them) and they presumably already have an anti Odyssey bias due to that massive controversy that involved Alone’s parent distributor ripping Odyssey off for like a billion dollars or whatever.
