Catty Jam & Ben K Update.

First off I’d like to let everyone know that Ben K is now doing much better. Read about what happened to him here. He’s out of the hospital and according to his friends is supposed to make an almost complete recovery over the course of the next couple months. Apparently he’s already doing super good. And in a really bizarre turn of events, apparently the hospital has decided to waive Ben’s 6 figure medical bill for 500 dollars. I’ve never, ever heard of anything like that happening before. But it’s pretty amazing. However he’s still got to keep doing physical therapy which is real expensive, and the guys from Catty are doing a big jam to raise money for him:

“This is a flyer for the Catty woods jam Nov. 1. We are having 50/50 raffle with 8 prize packages all between 200 to 1000 dollars worth of goods with the top prize having a Sunday trail frame. We are also having a 10 dollar long jump contest where all the money goes to Ben for his medical bills. Winner of the long jump gets close to 1000 package with a complete back odyssey wheel. The long jump is after 3 berms and a roller tabletop, so anyone can do it.”

And just for the record, the reason why people like Ben have such a hard time in situations like this is because we’re one of the only country’s fucked up enough to not have public health care. If you oppose Obama’s health care reform plan you should kill yourself.

  1. The majority of people who don’t have health care don’t have it because they don’t want to pay for it. While I am all for universal health, there isn’t THAT much of an excuse to not have some sort of coverage… Basic shit is cheap. What’s your reason for not having health care Adam?

  2. Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Cuba, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, South Korea, Ukraine the United Kingdom and more are all laughing at your stupidity and lack of social health care.

  3. can anyone go to this? if so where the hell is it?

  4. “If you oppose Obama’s health care reform plan you should kill yourself”

    Truth.

  5. I work hard, and have no desire to pay for a bunch of losers who don’t wear pads or work for a living. I pay for my own healthcare and the people I know who don’t have healthcare can afford it but buy beer and weed instead. Grow up you stupid children.

    • you say that until you fall and break your neck then your family has to sell their house to pay for your medical care and everyone goes bankrupt.. what a stupid idiot you are.

    • So… you’re not familiar with the concept of health insurance are you? If he has insurance, and he falls, insurance covers it. End of story.

It’s idiots like Ben K that create the problem by not having insurance in the first place.

    • I had a disaster on the ocean city half pipe 20 years ago, 9 surgeries total. I had insurance. I did not ask anyone for help. Bite Me loser child.

To the idiot who states…that is why your country is in the shitter? Don’t think so. It’s losers like you looking for a free hand out from the rest of us… If you think another country is better, you should at least try visiting them. You will see why the USA is called the land of opportunity. My relatives live in one of the countries mentioned above… can you say no dream job? Can you say dinky car, dinky bath tub, shitty house? Sing it with me douche bags.

    • Before you go calling someone an idiot learn something about the man situation. Oh and come to Austin and get your fucking head busted.

    • He had no insurance. End of story.

I’d be more than happy to come ‘get my head busted’ in Austin. Know why? I have insurance.

    • chucklehead your a moron. i have lived in germany, canada, and US. and I can tell you the fact is, usa may have more opportunity in business, but americas quality of life for the middle class is the same as quality of life for the lower class in these other countries. US is full of poverty and you guys say this is middle class.. traveling doesnt cut it, you have to live somewhere else long term to really understand just how shitty america is.

    • Hoang babbles “usa may have more opportunity in business,” Of course I’m right, you little trustafarian douche bag.

“but americas quality of life for the middle class is the same as quality of life for the lower class in these other countries.”

So a country that rewards idiots like yourself is better? Hmm. I expect that little bathtub should fit your little brain quite well.

    • chucklehead you are correct in saying most people spend their money on weed and beer however i do think there should be a plan that makes it free or cheaper because really we are paying at least 150 a month for a plan but dont use a fraction of that. they are making too big of profits

    • Nick,

I am highly offended that you would call Ben an idiot, you clearly have never met him. Let me tell you one thing…Ben means the world to me and I refuse to listen to anyone talk that way about him. You are right, he didn’t have insurance, but guess what…that will not be the end of the world for us. Ben is alive and totally beating the odds. He comes from a family of positive people and not for one minute while Ben laid in an ICU hospital bed, connected to tubes, monitors, and a ventilator did his family ever think they would lose Ben. Because he is such an amazing person in this world, he is being taken care of 100%. I have never seen a HUGE group of people who love and support someone so much like Ben’s friends do.
I hope your family never has to experience what we are going through….insurance or not. Regardless of if he had insurance or not, he got really hurt and it will be a long road for him. Insurance has nothing to do with that. It happened and it really sucks but the best part is…today is Ben’s 30th birthday and his family and friends got to celebrate it with him.

  6. “If you oppose Obama’s health care reform plan you should kill yourself”

More like, if you want to huck yourself all day with no sense of personal responsibility, and hope that everyone else chips in pays for it, you should kill yourself. My paycheck is not your insurance plan. Wear pads, grow up, and stop begging me for money every time you fall.

  7. He didn’t have insurance. End of story.

I’d be more than happy to come “get my fucking head busted” in Austin. Know why? I have insurance.

  8. maybe you should actually read the Obama health care plan before saying something as ridiculous as kill yourself if you oppose it.

  9. Yea, one of Obama’s proposed plans involves this:

Insurance companies will be required meet government guidlines.
Said Insurance companies will be government approved.
On you tax return you will show proof that you have insurance that is government approved.
If you are not able to show you have government approved health care, you will be fined by the IRS.

And to the people saying “Hey just get your own insurance” please check the rates for an individual to obtain insurance. Really crappy medical insurance will run about $200 a month. And that will be low coverage, high co-pay with a low top out. Meaning you will only have to pay a grand out of pocket for a broken leg or such and the insurance will cover the rest. If you have to stay a couple days, you will probably top out your insurance for the year and then be a few G’s in debt (or more if its ICU). If you have insurance from your employer, mind you your employer actually pays a portion and gets a group rate discount, this drastically reduces what gets taken out of your check.

Frankly more so than Socialist health care or Insurance. The high cost of our health care falls back to people getting obnoxiously high payouts from lawsuits. But unfortunately we cannot change the past. I believe our best bet would be socialist health care. All your taxes are already paying for welfare and old people health care. Proper integration including maintaining a MD’s take home pay (but alleviating their 6 figure medical malpractice insurance) should leave the working American with nearly the same take home pay. Increase in tax, but no medical insurance taken out.

  10. Here’s a tip. Blue Cross-Blue shield is under 200 bucks and quite good. During past periods of unemmployment, that’s what I get. Keep in mind, I hope Ben get’s better. The last paragraph Adam wrote was so dumb, I felt the need to post a different opinion.

  11. helth care aside, where is the jam located, adress?

  12. I expect when I was 10 years old like the rest of you, my father would have explained it this way… Son…Do you think everyone should get a factory ride from a major company, even if they suck?

Sorry Ben for polluting your thread, but Adam polluted your post. Get well soon. Adam is the douche and he’s not even participating in the fun.

  13. Hey Nick, I hope your family dies in a fucking house fire.
