2 Chase’s are better than one, right? A-ha! I think this might be the end of the sponsor changes here. I asked Chase months ago what he was going to do if Robbie went through with this Cult thing and he said something like “dude I wouldn’t have had any of this shit happen to me if it wasn’t for Robbie, so of course I gotta stick with him no matter what”. Say what you will, but you gotta respect loyalty in this day and age.

Who do you think buys the mag/web ads, pays for the trips, video production, flows them product, develops and produces the pro models that they receive royalties on and pays their salaries, etc. It’s a partnership – but those dudes who left wouldn’t be where they’re at without Moeller and all the other team riders who made FIT what it is (Aitken, BF, Van, Eddie), the riders were actually “loyal!”

Who is backing Robbie financially in his new venture? I can’t imagine he has enough to start a new company and pay these guys until they start moving product. This could be another Citizen or Versa company, pick up an entire team and then nothing.

I don’t know how much credit to give Robbie in Fits success. Moeller knew(knows) what riders want and how to create an image that isn’t cheesy (Mirraco, Snafu, Alienation)and doesn’t wear thin when you’re not a teenager anymore(FBM). I think Robbie had good choices in team riders and is a coll dude to chill with but I don’t know what else he has to offer.

Who cares….. Fat Robbie sucks anyway and I have no idea how his fat ass managed to make it this far in the industry. When the first year of the Dew Tour came through town, I was working at a shop and he called up looking for some hub parts and some handlebars. I helped the guy out and sold the stuff to him at cost, big mistake. One of my good friends had broken a six month old FIT frame about a week earlier. The frame happened to be at the shop and I showed to Robbie, he held it with his own two hands and said “no problem, I’ll take care of it.” Sure enough, I called his fat ass and left messages, sent emails and finally he dumped the problem on the warranty guy at S&M and nothing ever came of it other than a new shop stool that I made out of the broken frame. I really do hope that I don’t ever have to see Fat Robbie in BMX again. Good luck to the rest of the guys that followed him though. I truly do wish them the best.

i’ve been in the industry for 15 years. you don’t say you can do something and not do it. i realize he was only the team manager, but he still said he would take care of it. if a team manager doesn’t have enough pull with a company to take care of a warranty issue, then that person is just a warm body and not a true representative of the company or the team.
sorry for coming off like a prick, as i have only been a rider and not in the industry. i can see why you would be pissed. but at the same time like i said he’s only a team manager and as far as helping out with a messed up frame he can only do so much. you gotta think, there’s probably a ton of other frames that are broke or have issues too that S&M has to deal with first. and just because robbie seen this one first hand its not like it he has the right to push all other people who had issues first aside to deal with yours specifically. he could present it to them and thats about as far as it goes. but i don’t know what the deal was or whatever so i can’t really speak on what happened. i’m just saying its only so much he could do.

even though it was his job, team manager is a definite understatement. Robbie was the PR guy for a gig that was always Moeller’s money. that’s the truth, and he did a great job with it. credit him for choosing all the riders and knowing what would sell. I’ve never seen anyone on here call him out on it, but the name Fit was a complete rip-off… about 12 or so years ago it was an SF based skate company that didn’t last too long. if he really did find an investor in Thomas, expect it to be a complete success.

Skateboarding and BMX are almost one in the same. They are very similar lifestyles. They may have their differences as well, but skateboarding is a lot more popular. Not that popularity is really a good thing, but it couldn’t hurt at this point. I’m sure Jamie Thomas is interested in the money, but I am also sure he is into helping out BMX as well. Skateboarding is already huge these days. BMX is growing. Growth is inevitable. As long as you love riding, and keep doing it, nothing else will matter.

the brand isn’t being funded by skateboarding its being BACKED by chris cole, the brand is still 100% bmx and funded by bmx..being backed by chris cole is to show what bmx can be doing, bmx is very very far behind and this brand will be pushing limits that bmx has not had the chance to do yet, not pushing the same old simple bullshit and cotton shirts with a logo on them. frames and bikes have no more room to change, but bmx as a presence has a long way to go. be happy all of your favorite companies are going to be forced to step it up and bmx will be looking better than ever, look at the change and impact it has had in the last few years, bmx is only getting more interesting, who can be mad about that.

The only real reason BMX died before the 90’s was because people realized that image is not where it’s at. Factory riders and gear where all the hype and then overnight it was gone. Until rider owned and funded companies started popping up and making BMX an individual thing again. This eventually brought back BMX and made it popular again. Only then did Vans, Fox, Nike etc. get involved and they’ll be the first to go.(Vans has come and gone more than once). If you think that in order to ride a bike you need to wear the clothes and have all the latest stuff well then the big companies have done their jobs. And none of the big companies have done anything but make clothes, have contests and set colour trends, they haven’t made a part or come up with anything directly related to BMX. So how has that in anyway made BMX better or more interesting. Except for the fact that most kids are willing to try anything to get the big paycheck. Garrett Reynolds is an absolute shredder but do you really think he’d do alot of what he does right now without the multi-million dollar paychecks. Really think about it. And Cult is the stupidest name ever don’t even try to say anyone would be down with it if they weren’t putting together a team like they are. Get back on your bike with a pair of ripped blue jeans and a plain old t-shirt and see if you can still shred. Fashion does not make you ride better..

Think about it. Chase, Dak and the others wouldnt have left and decided to ride for this brand new company called cult unless they knew that Robbie new what he was doing. He has had years of experience in the BMX industry and knows whats up and how it works. Also all you people that are ragging on the new company will probably all jump on the band wagon because It has Chase, Dak and the majority of the well known fit team on it and you will all be saying how awsome it is. Also if it is true about the company being backed by skateboarders then that can only be good form the sport because there is alot more money in skateing so hopfully they will put back in to the industry and help our sport grow. The Comany wont go down the shitter because of the names it has backing it. All you people gotta stop hating as well what good is it gonna do.

I have seen the team, Robbie and the whole Cult team was at my local skatepark and they look pretty damn dialed. Now everyone i know pulled all the Fit stickers off of their stuff and put Cult stickers in their place. HA HA! How fast trends change! I think Cult has a good image(like fbm and fit) they will go far. plus Robbie Morrales has been known for many many years to be a good manager and talent scout, so Cult will be fine. You think they are quiting…just moving up in the world. they probly have more involvment with the company and are making more money, so big ups to them for taking a risk.
