Did Profile Rip Off A Fat Shirt?

Fat BMX (a BMX website that isn’t The Come Up) had posted an item accusing Profile of ripping off their shirt design. The shirt on the left is the Profile design, the shirt on the right is the Fat design. A few things come to mind:

1) Do you really think that anyone at Profile even knew that the Fat shirt existed? I mean I spent more time looking at BMX related stuff online than anyone, and I had no idea Fat even made shirts.

2) Does Fat not realize that the tricks in the 2 photos aren’t the same? I’m no photographic expert or anything but the photos also look nothing alike, the Profile as had a hard border while the Fat shirt is blurred and has text in the middle of the shirt.

3) Does this mean that Fat own an unofficial copyright on all black & white photography now?

Something tells me that Fat will try and claim that their post was a joke, but something also tells me that it wasn’t originally posted with that intent.

    BdJ and PdJ, who run FatBMX, have been around BMX a long, long, *long* time and are friends with pretty much everyone that matters in the BMX industry. This post was certainly a tongue-in-cheek joke, and it’s a shame that anyone would try and overthink it.

    let me explain furthur, for a start I personaly do not want a picture of someone riding a bmx on my t shirt, because no matter who designed it or what slogan or brand is ther, it always looks like its just some bargain priced t-shirt thats meant to look all “urban” for teens.
    Then theres t shirts with just a company name/logo, thats pretty cool I guess, but not in 10 different font designs and colours. Boring.
    I don’t want some silly pen line drawing of a cityscape, some architecture or an animal either. Its completely pointless and tries to hard to be “alternative” or a hipster or something.
    Also I don’t want a slogan on a t shirt, for example TCU ones, its like little in jokes off the site and forum, which if you think about it, wearing a shirt about a computer forum is like a computer club. Might as well wear a world of warcraft t-shirt. I see no difference.
