Los Angeles, CA – Over the last decade, etnies has flowed more than 25,000 pairs of shoes to homeless people living in Los Angeles! The current tough economic times have led to the rise of homeless people in L.A., and today Pierre Andre and a crew from etnies hung out with the Skid Row residents. etnies teamed up with the Los Angeles Mission to break through some of the doom and gloom, and provide more than 2,000 men, women and kids with a hot meal and a brand new pair of etnies shoes.

“In these tough economic times, there is more reason than ever to help those in need and give back to the causes that touch your heart – for me this is the Los Angeles Mission,” said etnies owner Pierre Andre Senizergues. “For over 10 years my team and I have donated thousands of shoes to the homeless on Skid Row and this year will be no different. Not only because the need will be greater, but because it is this small contribution that can make a difference in someone’s life.”

  • Chris

shitty shoes or not. they get my respect. do you realize how much it would cost to give out that many pairs of shoes? thousands. and thats hard to do in times like this.

  • bigbri

etnies slb 23′s were the best shoes i ever owned. No matter what any new school kid has to say, those shoes lasted over 4 years of tough riding before they had to go! kudos to you etnies!

this is very good to see that big corporations still care about the public, along with the public that is less fortunate.

  • AshSmart

    this is cool, impressed

  • homeless

    yeah, good job.

  • Drifter Dave

it shouldn’t. etnies is a giant corperation making millions in profits off the backs of economic slaves in countries developed by corperate dollars. A small handout of slightly defective shoes is a FRONT designed by PR and MARKETING AGENCIES to give their corperation the FACE of HUMANITY. Don’t be swayed by this public display of EMPATHY, the motives are ALL profit-based. How do I know? I took 3yrs Sales&Marketing in College, and it made me sick to uncover the deception we are all trained to blindly accept. Just offering AWARENESS, nothing more.

  • Drifter Dave

slightly defective products are handed out and sold through crap outlets like Winners, or handed out to the homeless in a VERY public display. Great marketing strategy by ETNIES, CEO’s don’t care about the people, they see this as a method to increase future sales by polishing their FACADE. See through the obvious, and into the REAL truth bro.

  • Drifter Dave

the marketing ploy is working well…

  • Drifter Dave

its a marketing method NOTHING MORE…now the Etnies corperation is gonna save the fuckin planet??!!?? WTF I’d be impressed if they devoted 10% of net profits into building a self-sufficient homeless shelter, not giving away factory defects! false front BANDADE BULLSHIT is unacceptable

  • thankyou

    Drifter Dave speaks fucking TRUTH.

  • thankyou

    ^^^^^ listen up kids

  • Nate

Looks like 3 years of sales and marketing did not teach you how to spell corporation. What ever the motive (they are a for-profit company), at least a bunch of homeless people have some shoes.

  • pancakes

that person doesnt look very homeless to me in the picture looks like she is looking for yet ANOTHER hand just like millions of people in the US. how would ou detrmine who is homeless or not? they couldve been giving shoes to random people with a decent living.

this got me thinking, I HATE WELFARE!!!! welfareshould only last 1-4 months and you must HAVE to get a copy of every application you turn in in order to see your ARE trying to find a job and if you are under the requirement your “welfare” ends permenately. there are to many people in the US free loading and getting along “free” while OUR TAX DOLLARS support them for our hard work!!

    FUCK I HATE OBAMA!!!!!!!!
    FUCK I HATE OBAMA!!!!!!!!
    FUCK I HATE OBAMA!!!!!!!!
    FUCK I HATE OBAMA!!!!!!!!
    FUCK I HATE OBAMA!!!!!!!!

  • pancakes

oh yeah its kinda nice helping the homeless but im thinking atleast, mmmmm, 50% of them tried selling the shoes later for money to buy useless luxuries that’ll last a day.(alcohol, drugs etc.)

  • RICHARD

Hey grumpy old man….What would you have them do with the factory defect shoes? Destroy them and take a loss? Why not give them to people in need? Do you have something against helping out? Any publicity is just that. PUBLICITY! If it helps them make more sales, which in turn drives them to make more shoes, so be it. That just means that there is more of a chance that they may end up with more stuff to give away. It is a known fact that goods in a high volume manufacturing environment sometimes turn out less than acceptable for a resale product. That by no means states that they are trash. I have NO problem with any company helping the less fortunate for ANY reason. It may be a profit driven decision in the grand scheme of things, but that is why they have a “Sales& Marketing” team. To explore and utilize any or every “marketing method” that will be beneficial to the company. (even better when it is beneficial to others) Any company that says that they never look at the big picture is lying. Id be impressed if you devoted 10% of your weekly pay to your local homeless shelter. You don’t, and we both know you wont. I’m not saying that everyone should be” that guy”, but don’t cry foul on someone that is doing way more than you. Was the free meal a factory defect Mary? Do you need a tissue?

  • RICHARD

    Stay in school!

  • MMMMCXXX

Obama didn’t create the welfare system. Just thought you should know.

  • MMMMCXXX

He definately speaks the truth, though, and by any one of us seeing this as a “good thing,” only confirms that their marketing ploy worked. Etnies isn’t the only company(or entity for that matter,) that uses the masses’ stupidity aginst themselves, though. Look to your government for further proof. Is the economy in shitty shape because you personally know it is, or because it’s been drilled into your head for the past year and a half. From where I stand, it’s all a matter of perception. The bank I use never stopped loaning money. My business never laid off one worker, nor were our hours reduced. My work isn’t niche nor common, but the regional and national economy still supports it. Same goes for etnies. They’re not hurting any more than we give them credit for, and by giving product away in a very public setting, they can count on sales based on decieved perception. Basically if you’re told a lie frequently enough, you’ll eventually begin to see some truth in it.

i think this is stupid, bmx riders need to form together and take care of their own, most bmxers that aren’t pro have very little money as it is, help us out not the fucking stupid fucking homeless. that is all.
