Everyone has been curious about what Johnny Devlin is up to since he stepped away from BMX in favor of traveling and doing the lord’s work, or whatever. He has a new blog up here that details what he has been up to and it’s pretty interesting.
Let’s not kid ourselves. This is a veiled attempt to avoid real work and take a hipster banjo ramble. I got a lot more respect for the ones that do it without bullshitting everyone with their “higher calling”.
Explain to me why riding your bike with a banjo and stargazing with no socks is saving the world?
If you carpooled in a civic with other do-gooders, you could hit up 400 times more FNB rallies and save like 90% more jewish and muslims bound for hellfire. It’s a race against the clock to save heathens, and by towing your banjo on a bicycle, you are just letting them die.
Johnny is spreading love and helping people whilst appreciating the magical creation that is reality. By harmonizing divisions in his own mind, he’ll radiate truth and love to the rest of the planet through the fact we are all connected through global consciousness. That’s how he’ll help save the world. God bless Johnny dude.

But your state of mind is designed to, with minimal effort, maximize benefit to yourself and your blood pressure with maximum “supposed” benefit to imaginary people worldwide. You latch onto the idea that your “positive vibrations” are radiating out and helping kids in Africa. All you do is think positive and “chill” while other people actually keep the world turning. It must feel great to have such a COSMIC pat on the back all the time. You wanna talk about reality? Life on earth is a fuckin struggle and if you have time to quit a job, ride a bmx bike, or play a banjo in 2009, don’t kid yourself, you’re denying the struggle (and as much a piece of shit as the next guy)
all ive gotta say is live and let live, love and let love and johnny has the same view. hes not out there to judge anyone on there beliefs and/or how they decide to live your life. he is just out there to help people who are having a hard time with theres. if you can’t respect that then you must be a shitty selfish person. johnny is hands down one of the best people i have ever had the privilege of meeting, hanging out with, and calling my friend. i support and will continue to support anything this guy does just because he would be doing to same thing for me. he is a genuine, amazing person and he is definitely one of a kind. good luck on your travels buddy and i hope to see you again sometime in the future.
