I hate this little niche I’ve dug out in the BMX industry. There’s this whole code of silence where everyone knows weeks or months ahead of time about who’s riding for who, who quit riding for who, etc. but everyone keeps it on the low. I hate that shit. For instance Ardelean Emailed me a week or two before the news broke that Taj was riding for Giant and basically said “this is what’s going on, but please don’t post anything for the next two weeks”. I was so bummed. There I was sitting on the most controversial BMX sponsor change of all time (anyone care to challenge that statement?) and I wasn’t supposed to say anything. I think I leaked it a few days before I was supposed to and I had some stupid back up excuse I was going to tell Mike if he was bummed, but he didn’t care.
As much as I would like to consider myself a superhero of BMX media who defies all that and just posts shit that I know is true, I end up getting sucked into it because I don’t want to piss off people that I’m friends with. So yeah. Big KQP news coming within 48 hours that I know the details of but am not supposed to post.
