Fly is reporting that Kevin Porter got sponsored by a coffee company:

“It’s official, after a few months of working out the details I now have a new sponsor. Intelligentsia Coffee and Tea. They are a world famous coffee roaster located here in Chicago. They have one other roasting facility in LA. They have three Chicago coffee shops and two LA shops. Just a few months ago a member of Intelligentsia’s staff Michel Phillips took the number 1 barista in the US and took 3rd in the world. I feel very privileged to have support from them; they feel very similar to a bike company. They are very down to earth and take extreme care when it comes to quality.”

Someone explain to me exactly how the number one barista in the world is calculated. Please.

    they have to be the most obnoxious scenester in the shop. Know a lot about rich white people things and just flat out act like they are better than most people. The Intelligentsia in LA is so annoying. People wait in line for hours at the main shop when this other little cafe sells the exact same coffee across the street.

    if you knew anything about me you’d know that’s not the case at all. To me, BMX is for everyone, whether they are a scrappy kid with a shitty bike or some prep school jock. It’s not an exclusive fashion show like expensive coffee shops are. Also, I don’t wait in lines to talk about BMX.
