Good story but why would you think your bike is safe on a bike rack? Bikes are never safe unless they are visible at all times. Thats why I sleep with mine.

Shit sucks. My old bike got stolen off a second story balcony a year ago. good to know he got all his parts back.

the worst are stories i hear from serious road bike racers, they are at a race of some sort, come back to their car, and someone has stolen a bike or wheels off their rack or even the rack itself, A FELLOW FUCKING RIDER AT THE COMP. those are the type of people who get beaten sop bad they get brain damage and everybody says they got what they deserve.

^ you lock that shit to the balcony. i know dudes in new york who lock their bikes up to a pipe INSIDE THEIR APARTMENT in case the apartment gets robbed, they still might get to keep the bike.

i dont have an exposed pipe so i lock mine to a heavy ass iron park bench i drug into my apt.

only locks that work are kryptonite and those heavy duty ongaurds. just get the ongaurd bulldog its the cheapest lock that actually works, anything that doesnt have that heavy duty mechanism isnt going to hold up.

the car was inside profile/maderas compound and is a relatively safe place, plus it is literally 10ft from his desk.. it stinks to not be able to trust your stuff at the place you work in a city of bmxers.

the story is sick, Right when i got his call i was like wtf, then started to help him find it, glad to hear it back. Its crazy that he would have a brand new bike the next day, I think I would have been out for a good while if it happened to me. :(

this is a great story, ur lucky, i know the pussies who stole my bike, madea police report, know exactly where he lives, and the cops said they cant do anything, i had just got the AS&M randy brown frame an dthe limited edition director forks, i spent over the last 3 years over 2500 into the bike it was worth maybe 1600 at its price range. i still am looknig for it your lucky to ahve even found ur bike in pieces within the enxt 24 hours.

When we got it to my house we were like wow that was dumb because we realized it was one of a kind. so we were gonna return it but had to hide it because i was going on vaction the nxt day. What i didnt know was that my friend posted it on CL. Im glad you got your bike back and hopefully your having a good time with it. Thanks again man for everything you “didnt” do. I would have liked to do the appology in person but i cant because i dont have your number.
