his first run was clean? all he did was 1080. triple whip to crank arms and quad whip to ball ride. if that counts as CLEAN then i must have whips on lock… his run was total bs. he did a couple shitty x-ups and left every other ramp blank. gary young definitly should have won. his run was amazing.

The entire basis for judging these contests make little sense. All the scores were bloated by Mike Spinner who got a 92 off of 3 tricks (two barely landed) on his first run. Because there is no actual standard for the judging all other runs have to be based off of this first run, which lead to all the scores being like .1 point from the podium.

In general judging for stuff like this is impossible. The judges at these contests ( and they’re always different judges so its never uniform) have to decide if they want STYLE over SHEER NUMBER OF SPINS.

The riders should choose who wins, then the best would truly be considered the best.

Hating on the rider for a judges decision is one of the lowest class things I have ever seen. Coming from so called “professional” riders and industry people is even worse.

the most depressing fact of the matter is that its impossible for these contests to turn out fair. its like a corporation running a store, and THAT’s why spinner won. his sponsors sponsor the event. these contest can be nice to watch for fun but the turnouts i think are bullshit in its purest form.

its already established pretty much if you can trip whip or throw good barspins your favored in a contest. these judges dont ride, they dont realize the aspect of style or creativity that should be considered for these contests, they just see a nigga do some flips and theyre almost gaurunteed a trophy.

The judges of the contest were all riders, Leigh Ramsdell, Flipper from Albes, Kris Bennet, and Dave Friemuth. Their job is not easy at all, they are as fair as they can be. There are so many riders doing so many hard tricks, there’s no way to judge them against each other and make everybody happy every tme, except when Bestwick is riding vert and nobody can compare against him. Unless you were there and you watched the whole contest and saw every single run, you shouldn’t talk crap about how the placings turned out. Spinner pulled some of the hardest tricks possible on a bike back to back. Gary Young rode clean and did some good tricks, but most of his tricks can’t compare to the stuff that the other guys are doing, a nice tabletop or a transfer that he might do, if you analyze it, is not the same as one of Daniel Dher’s corkscrewed barspin to can-can 720s. You have to look at the whole run and the difficulty of all the tricks and somebody has to decide how it all compares to everybody else, and that is not easy at all, but the judges did a pretty good job. They weren’t influenced by money or sponsors or anything. They did a good job. Spinner rode good, There are a couple more contests coming up, let’s see how he does at them.

98 percent of you werent there to watch the whole warmup/contest go down. you didnt see riders eat it during their warmup get back up and ride in a 103 F heat index with strong winds and then start finals. all you saw right there was tricks landed and few falls/bails.

I dont favour any of these riders but you can sorta see why spinner one. he did a quad whip, a 1080 turndown and a tripple whip air and some other clean tricks. Garys run was good but i dont think it was good enough to win, but he should have at E least come 3rd or 4th. you can obliviously see that the judges look for bangers and tricks that know1 else is doing. someone mentioned that he did a tripple whip air and landed on the cranks. i dont think it is even possible not to land on the cranks, because the bike is spinning so fast theres no way you can catch it perfect. Mark webb done an amazing run, 360 to decade, 900, underflip, 270 bar to turndown and probabaly one of the cleanest and stylish riders in the competition. also pat casey did some sick, tricks and he was incredibly smooth.

at the end of the day over the two runs people did i think the rankings should have looked like this
