I graduated from the country’s #1 entrepreneurship program (The Center for Entrepreneurship, The University of Arizona). From the beginning stages of an idea – before a dime gets invested – you’re taught to seek the opinions of advisers. This guy could really have used an adviser or two before risking everything.

I was in a similar situation, although not on television. I can tell you from personal experience that there is little more unnerving than sitting across from the VP of a bank as he reviews your business plan for investment.

But then, there is also fewer better feelings than hearing the words “this is a feasible concept and plan” from an investor. But before I made it that far, I spoke to angel investors, industry pioneers, engineers, politicians, and bureaucrats, and riders about The Curbrider Tactile Pedals (www.curbrider.com).

I feel for that guy, but it still made me chuckle, and it made me appreciate the support network I have in place for all my businesses.

I’ve been thinking a lot about thecomeupbmx.net and its associates. In any good business plan, you have to account for risks to the business. As I’m watching the best BMX content that brings the “millions” of hits to thecomeupbmx.net, I can’t help but wonder what percentage of the music in the videos (let’s face it…good music makes video) is actually licensed. This is a huge risk to Adam’s business, although I’m sure that – as any good entrepreneur would – he’s accounted for that in his business plan and exit strategy.
