Adam, your argument is flawed in one way. The bike he is on was designed for this type of riding, It might not be your choice, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is its intended purpose. A Trials bike and components were made to hop, drop, and spin, exactly what is in the video. Comparing it to riding a brakeless BMX bike in the Tour De France doesn’t make sense. A BMX bike wasn’t build to be ridden long distances efficiently like a road bike so why would you. You wouldn’t.

That is a trials bike, other then those few shots at the concrete park most of this riding is trials riding. His bike is built exactly for what he rides. A BMX would make no sense at all for most of that shit. Danny is rad, it’s awesome a rider is getting something that big. Trials bikes rely on suspension to do a lot of that. Being able to spring 10ft with no speed is impossible on a BMX.

The reason why this is popular is BECAUSE it’s goofy and like parkour. BMX shit is too intricate for the most part of the lay people to understand, but this guy is using obstacles found in everyday life and going slow enough for people to understand.

Danny Mac really doesn’t care for sticking to a style of biking. His riding trandescends different types because that is what he enjoys doing. I have met the guy and he is genuinely a very nice bloke, he just rides his bike and wouldn’t really want to be causing such an argument.

You are right about Garret Reynolds being able to do the BMX style moves in this video better, and there would be quite a few trials bikers who could do the trials parts of the video better. Yeah, Garrett Reynolds cant do the exact same stuff as Danny does. But the point is that he can do similiar, if not better, tricks that would suit the commercial more. Sure trials riding looks pretty amazing, but bmx just looks gnarlier and more reckless, which would fit theme of the commercial.

Marketing and VW paying someone-They want to show you can fit stuff in that car like a big mtb, although it would be cooler to have an edit of 3 bmx guys doing similar rad stuff and having them and all their bikes fit in it(and I think that goes better with VW’s friends-style outlook) however when it comes to paying someone, it would just be cash or they’d have to split the car or give three cars(just a lot more complicated or expensive). So really it just comes down to VW marketing being cheap, lazy, or a combination of the two.

It’s sad so much hate can come from such a good web video. He incorporated a few different riding styles, so to me it seems he must really enjoy all aspects of cycling. Refreshing and fun to watch. hey to the adam guy, like i just started riding but i used to be a sort of acrobat/parkour stuff, i mean like everyone in that social group is so good mates with each other and easy to get along with, like anyone you meet is just like you’ve been mates for ages. but like when i wen’t to a park to ride the other day it well messed me up cause everyone that was there that rides was proper awkward to like get along with and it kinda seems that people that think about ((e.g. macaskills) vids) like that are the reason for people bein dooshes. everyones so creative that i used to move with and you sorta sound like your crushing it in the riders, and makin them closed minded and like anti everyone but themselves. so please stop cause i want descent friends that ride
