So it looks like Kachinsky has gotten his revenge on El Toro. For those who don’t know, a few years back, Brian went to El Toro planning on toothpicking it for a Ride BMX cover. This was right when they removed the center rail though, so he was forced to travel south to San Diego and toothpick a similar set for the cover. In perhaps the greatest instance ever of a banging clip being used for a stupid web video, it was featured in this how to video.
Since then, a couple moves have gone down on El Toro’s side rails, most notably Nathan Williams’ over icepick down it which was in his Ride UK interview (we’ll have to wait for the United video to see that one in motion). So what was BK’s revenge? If I had to guess I’d say that he might have done a nollie to pegs down it, since he’s previously done nollie to pegs down a really low kinked rail and nollie to gap second stage pegs on a kinker. Given that he’s already pulled those, it would make sense that he’d want to nollie grind a 20 stair straight rail that is reasonably high from the top.
Granted, I could just ask BK and he might tell us the truth, but speculation is far more fun.
If you’ve already got a flame tattoo with multi-colored skulls around it, how could you NOT complete the puzzle and get a Vital BMX tattoo to go with it? Well played, sir.
The original rumor was that Cult was going to be co-owned by Greenhouse. That didn’t happen, but it seems they will be doing their distribution on the east coast. This is also the first time I’ve seen TCU mentioned in a press release that has nothing to do with me or the site, which is cute. Check the press release after the jump. This is real cool and the above video is pretty funny. I still have to resort to “y’know, like skateboarding but on bikes” when explaining what BMX is from time to time.
At first I thought not to post this because of the video from yesterday but fuck it, Aitken’s the man. So good to see him back on a bike, killing it as usual. Will we see an Aitken video part in 2010?
There’s a thread on TCUB today in which Larry Alvarado (resident S&M filmer) linked to the above photo from the S&M Facebook. It’s easy to guess what was attempted but was it pulled? Knowing Hoder, probably.
The Notro results are in, and big surprise, Drew Bezanson won. Check it all out here. Also there’s seriously a girl rider named “Mini Park”, this is a real thing that exists in the real world.
Via WTP:
“We are happy to add two more riders to our flow team. Chris Gollup from New York City will represent wethepeople on the east coast. Pete Sawyer is repping wethepeople in the United Kingdom trough CSG Distribution…please feel free to blog/post etc.”
You thought the casualties from World War 3 (the warring armies being Moeller and Morales) were over with, but you were wrong. Alex Kennedy has left his home on Fit for Cult, with his Nike P.I.C. section just about a week old. So for the record, just in case you weren’t paying attention, Fit is distributed by 4Down, Cult is distributed by Seventies, but in the USA, S&M distributes United, who are owned by the same dudes that own 4Down. Confused yet?
