Ayo! The above comment was posted on Facebook earlier today but has since been deleted. Jim should have known, nothing ever gets erased from the internet, since one of the watchdogs over on TCUB screen capped it as well as some other slanderous status updates Jim posted last night. What’s funny is that I don’t recall posting any TCU trailers lately. I might, maybe find it within my heart to come through with some sort of response to this sooner or later, but I’m just not sure. It feels almost too silly for me to acknowledge, y’know? If I was a legend like Jim C, I wouldn’t be publicly acknowledging a lil ol’ blogger like myself, but that’s just me. For the record, I don’t have any ill will towards Jim and am honored that I am on his mind during his current trip to Australia.
Last week Mike Mastroni told me that he didn’t believe I could learn to footjam whip a bank in 50 tries. I said he was crazy and that I could. He bet me a candy bar. It was on. We went to a parking garage and he filmed the results. Let’s do this.
UPDATE: I’m aware the sound isn’t working on all computers. Which is weird, because we’ve tested it on a variety of browsers and it sporadically works on some and not on others. If it doesn’t work on yours and you really want to see it, try another browser, or wait til tomorrow, we should have it worked out by then.
This website Bike Rumor asked me to do an interview. They’re an actual cycling site as opposed to a BMX website so I figured I’d give it a go. A lot of it’s shit you’ve read in interviews with me before but there’s some info that might fill in the blanks regarding some other rumors that have been popping up lately.
While the BMXFU crew were out here last week we got a lot of filming done for some web videos. You of course remember Don’t Quit Your Blowjob from last week, well here’s the newest one. It’s a curb session that popped up unexpectedly featuring Craig Passero, Garrett Reeves, Charlie Crumlish, Chris Z, Seth Peterson and more.
Other good news… Charlie Crumlish is getting hooked up by Lotek. Re-watch Charlie’s FUTU part for a reminder why and lay in wait for Charlie’s FU3 section.
A few months ago some chick asked Tory Kish, Day Day, Mike Mastroni and I to come do some tricks in the background for this music video. I don’t really know what to make of the music, but the dudes were nice enough. At the end they gave us some weed and one of the dudes said “my grandfather grew this weed in Afghanistan himself” and Day Day believed him, then ate bagels out of the trash.
Last week an all star line up of BMX characters hit up a Hooters outside of Boston for beer, wings and current events. The cast included myself, Brian Hunt, Rory Ellis, Ryan “Biz” Jordan, Chris Long (behind the lens) and Andrew McMullen. In this, the first episode, Brian calls me out on my next web video and I question Biz about the rumors of him and Kevin Porter engaging in fellatio which stem from the comments on this video. He denies it, but I’m not so convinced.
So here’s the deal, I started a new blog. Why? Well I wrote a post on there about why, and now I will quote it:
So here we are. I’m Adam. If you don’t know me, I’m just some idiot that started a blog called The Come Up. Originally The Come Up was no big deal, just a place for me to post random BMX videos, photos and news. I would also mix in various funny links, music related posts, etc. But then something happened… The Come Up got big. Stupid big. Like the biggest BMX site, ever (I’m not bragging, just saying). All of a sudden it didn’t seem like it made sense to post videos of cats running their heads under water faucets and Gucci Mane videos when I was already posting 20 BMX videos a day. And that’s a shame, because as a result of the time I put into my job (TCU became profitable within a year of starting it), I find a lot of stuff online. Add in the fact that due to TCU’s success I’ve started to travel a lot, and I’ve got a lot of weird stories that seem out of place to post on TCU.
So I decided to start a new blog. Anything might end up here. Stories, videos, absurd analysis of boring things… pretty much anything that isn’t BMX, if you want BMX, you already know where to go. What do I expect to get out of this site? I don’t know, but somehow I think it’ll be good.
