Dan Cauchi is a good friend of mine who happens to be one of the best riders I’ve met. He kills it in this new edit, those 180 nose jams are insane and the pegs to over tooth grind (snaggletooth?) was amazing. Most people just tap the end but Dan locked into a good few feet of the rail. Also features a double front peg grab over a hip and a big old predator down a kinker. Kid is so slept on, study up.

Continuing with the Guy Stuff uploads, Subrosa and Defgrip teamed up to premiere Greg D’Amico’s section a few days ago. The embed code is now open, so enjoy. I’m proud of Greg on this one, the ender especially. We stumbled across that setup and Greg didn’t hesitate to send it a few times until he pulled it clean.

The FU dudes held their annual 420 jam on 4/22 this year, managing to divert the rain clouds with smoke clouds and Matt Drew was on hand to put together this edit.

Highlights include Shawn Swain doing a downside footplant toothpick on the top of a building, Greg Henry doing every rail trick on a flat bar they set up into a bank, and Paul Hoerdt doing a crazy feeble up a picnic table, abubaca, backwards smith fullcab to shut ‘er down.  Well done boys.

The other day we finally put the BMXFU x OSS Secret Long Beach DVD online (yes, that is the official name).

I figured I’d make a list, explaining exactly what is going on during certain parts of the video. Trust me, there’s some good stuff in here:

00:13: We did one of those 10 Questions video interviews with Chris Z and it never ended up getting edited (thanks Chris Long) but at one point I decided it would be funny to put Tony the cat on top of our TV (we had this huge monstrosity of a TV from the 90′s that Alfredo gave us at the time) so he’d just be in the shot during one of the questions. Instead he slashed Chris Z’s face (he doesn’t have front claws so nobody was harmed) and ran away.

00:22: Rory Ellis Wu-tanging a blunt. Tom White did it in his All Day intro, making this an ABD.

00:35: 180 toothpick tap off a curb has to be one of the best tricks ever. Bobby Altiser getting it done.

00:40: This rail is right down the street from our house and it’s awesome but the doors are almost always closed. For some reason, this day they weren’t. Which meant we finally got to ride it. I grinded up it, then Mike Taylor went up it, looped around the hallways and crooked back down. Mike Taylor probably has the best clips in this video now that I think about it, some of them were in his G Sport edit as well.

1:03: RIP Qualcom.

1:10: This is the same anchor thing that Dakota jumps into in that Cinema edit. There are amazing ledges out front, which I’m told just got capped.

1:24: Everyone always wants to know why Phil Bartlett does so many hop whips here. It’s because he kept bitching out on the second part of the line, a 180 bar down the set afterwards. He had just gotten some new Lotek’s that were too big so he hit his toe on his front wheel, causing the fall that you see at 1:50.

2:48: In this scene, Brian Hunt does a slow-style barspin on Mike Taylor’s bike and then some guy drives up and hands Catfish a flier for a medical marijuana dispensary.

3:12: These couches sucked so bad. They were seriously awful. It was our pleasure to throw them out the window. The second one almost hits the car parked on the street. The fact that Mike Taylor was there helping is pretty hilarious.

3:45: I have no actual recollection of recording this song. The lyrics make absolutely no sense. Greg Henry does not actually sell drugs in the park or rape girls in the park. He did, however, have sex with a dark skinned girl that he met at Shakespeares.

3:54: A couple of pro riders who I’ll leave anonymous had been talking shit about TCU on Twitter around the time that this freestyle took place, so I paid tribute by stating that he does, in fact, check The Come Up. We later censored it out because we didn’t want to make the drama any worse.

4:08: When we first moved to California we didn’t really know anyone aside from a couple of really young chicks who lived in Malibu who we would go and party with once in a while. This whole party scene here was filmed at one of their apartments while the BMXFU team was visiting. The girls were really rich so we’d just go over and get hammered and eat all their food. The footage of the beer pong table collapsing is so good.

4:17: Devin Feil doesn’t drink. Chris Long does. Often Chris Long drinks far too much. In this clip, he put the Go Pro in his mouth and stole Devin’s air mattress out from under him and threw it out the window. Devin walked outside and got it, then Chris did the same thing again and Devin had to go get it again. Chris drinks too much.

4:24: LOL @ Seinfeld playing on the TV during all this.

4:38: This was one of the clips that kept this video from being released for a while. Devin filmed this properly (it was in that epic Peg Leg mix edit) and shot a photo with Jeff Z so he didn’t want the Go Pro angle to come out beforehand, which makes sense.

4:53: At the time Devin was still riding some super small bars that he had on his bike since the early 2000′s. This was him trying to do a barspin on Mike Mastroni’s 8.8″ rise bars.

6:09: Mastroni filmed a real clip on this whale in his Volume edit.

6:32: It was really hard to capture how badass this wallride to gutter slap was. The real angle is in Denver Nugs.

6:38: Watch as Tony the cat mysteriously chirps at birds.

8:02: This was the first clip we filmed with Zach Krejmas when we started riding with him. At the time we named him “Kramer” (because that’s what his last name sounds like) but we later changed his name to “Paul”, because some girl called him that by accident. He liked being called Kramer and absolutely hates being called Paul.

8:31: This is probably Charlie’s finest editing moment.

8:45: Catfish had a train horn installed in his car. It cost like 1000 dollars. It is insanely loud. You can blow that thing a block away and still scare the shit out of someone. Here he uses it to scare Tony the cat, who then gets a truly remarkable amount of air as he runs away in horror.

8:51: Whenever there is a pen and a piece of paper around, I almost always use the opportunity to draw a picture of Tony the cat smoking a blunt. I drew it on Catfish’s iPad on the flight back from Estonia and he let it rock for a few months as his background.

9:35: Charlie throwing a football with the Go Pro in his mouth. You can see Chris Long eat shit trying to catch it.

10:45: This also serves as the DVD menu for Guy Stuff. Basically I woke up, made breakfast then sat down on the couch and started eating without realizing that David Grant had just taken a bong rip of salvia. Chris Long filmed it. I had no clue what was going on til later, I was just eating breakfast.

11:29: Best fall ever.

We posted this video yesterday but I just wrote up a kind of play-by-play about the video over on Chicken & Rice.

“A top secret BMXFU x OSS DVD filmed during the Winter of 2010. This was under wraps for many decades after it’s completion because it contains banger clips from many other video parts. Now that all those parts have been released, we can finally bust out the video and let the masses see it.”

Charlie Crumlish filmed this over the course of the Winter of 2010 while he was staying with us. Pretty much every day Charlie would go out riding, work on his OSS web video and in between filming, he’d whip out his Go Pro and capture whatever was going on. Then he’d go home and sit on the couch and spend hours and hours editing his clips, painstakingly adding effects and tweaking the songs. It was awesome. I probably saw 50 different versions of what eventually ended up being this video.

Despite being filmed with the Go Pro, this thing is amazing and includes so many incredible memories. From throwing the couch out the window, to scaring Tony the cat with Catfish’s train horn, this is basically a scrapbook of our lives during that time period and we all love it very dearly and are happy to share it with everyone.

It also includes me black out drunk, freestyling over Lil Wayne’s “Cannon” and changing it to “The Come Up”, delightfully chopped and screwed by Charlie.

This is the first section to be released online from BMXFU‘s most recent release, Guy Stuff. Check out Charlie’s thought process behind putting this online:

“So when we started filming GUY STUFF, I had to wrap my head around a way to make sure everyone was down to save all of their footage instead of putting out edits for their sponsors like everyone (understandably) wants to do.

We came to the agreement that after the majority of the copies were out there, we’d begin to upload a few sections slowly as web edits for the riders’ hookups. It seemed like the best of both worlds rite?

So here’s the first of the sections that will be online. Just to clarify, you should still seek out a copy at your local shop because there’s a TON of shit that won’t get uploaded. Have them hit up the distributors listed at the end.

First up is Greg Henry feat. Chris Zeppieri. Doing it for ALMOND, ECLAT, WETHEPEOPLE and TENPACK. I love this section and I think it represents the feel of the entire video which is why we chose to have it be the first upload.”

Really stoked on this for a few reasons:

1) Craig Passero does a 3 to smith with no switch side peg.

2) Chris Z finally took his brakes off and put 4 pegs on.
