Brad Simms Interview.

Brad Simms has an interview up on Ride. It’s a bit of a cock-tease since it’s got a couple photos of unreal tricks that he tried, and didn’t pull (sorry… the above photo of Brad iceing up El Toro is included in that) and he doesn’t go into detail about his new sponsor situation. But it’s still worth reading. If I were Brad I might have drawn more attention to the fact that Snafu dumped him to spend money ADVERTISING THEIR FIXED GEAR AND MOUNTAIN BIKE LINE. I’m sorry but any company who gives up legends like Brad and Morgan to blow cash on that shit doesn’t deserve any support.

I heard about this a few days ago but didn’t think it would happen so soon. Brad’s got something good in the works, so don’t feel too bad. Should be interesting to see what he’s got going on in the near future.

Frank Nitty Video

by MikeM on 01/23/10

There are many weird things about this video. The vimeo description,“i am the real frank nitty the only one who can stop me now is rick thorn”, the song choice, and the random photo of a young Brad Simms at the end for no reason. But, i mean..the riding is good.

Morgan Wade Off Snafu Too.

by adam on 01/22/10

MORGAN+HAND+PLANT
Yesterday we announced that Brad Simms had been dropped from Snafu. Today, Snafu announced that Morgan Wade has been let go too. McGoo goes on to say;

“Three SNAFU riders that have waited patiently for their day in the sun are Kevin Spanier, Dan Norvell and Mikey Babbel. To reward these hungry young guns for their dedication, Next month we’re moving them up to the pro team… Of course, our expansion into MTB demands more involvement in that scene, so next month you’ll see SNAFU ads breaking on VitalMTB.com.”

In other words, Morgan and Brad, two life long BMX superheroes have been left to starve to death in the streets which will presumably lead them towards prostituting themselves for food, so that Snafu can replace them with 3 dudes I’ve never heard of and spend their salaries on online mountain bike ads.

BONUS: ESPN took the liberty of copying and pasting some of the comments that Brad’s Facebook friends left on Brad’s newly parts sponsor-less status:

Kevin Krysiak: “I’ll take all the parts you don’t want.”
Mike Griffin: “Isn’t that kinda good?”
Billy Malkotsis: “Look on the bright side, you’re Brad Simms!”
Justin Carter: “Snafu isn’t good enough for you.”
Brandon Dosch: “Wtf!”
AJ Anaya: “Now you can get a good parts sponsor.”
Aaron Ross: “They are dumb.”
Luka Urbac: “Damn, that’s the only reason I liked Snafu.”
Garrett Reynolds: “I think you’re better off.”

He was dropped. Seriously? Wow.

I have an idea. I challenge Snafu to get ANY positive press in the next 6 months. Any at all. Come on, there’s gotta be a way, right?

UPDATE: I hit Brad up to find out why he was dropped and he filled me in; Snafu dropped him to open up room in their budget for expenses relating to their fixed gear and mountain bike line.

Brad Simms: Time Code.

by adam on 01/05/10

What’s a time code? It seems it’s just a bunch of random clips put together, but when you are dealing with a superhuman black roid abuser like Simms, that’s more than enough to warrant a post. Interestingly, the final crash in this is the same crash Brad talked about in his TCU interview where he fucked up both his wrists and had to stay off his bike for a long time.

Jeff Z Autophoto.

Jeff Z has an Autopilot feature up on Defgrip with a ton of great photos. This one of Brad Simms really stood out, even though after thinking about it for a second it doesn’t surprise me at all that Brad manualed up this rail. The reason why it didn’t get used in Ride is pretty funny too – hint: look at his shoes.

Brad Simms In Hoffman’s “Broke Off”.

by adam on 12/30/09

Here’s a good one that I had never seen online before, Brad Simms in “Broke Off”. Brad has killed it recently in his NYC web video, but it’s good to remember that he was murdering spots back in the day even when he still had short hair and a Hemorrhoid seat!

Chris Doyle is without question, one of the nicest guys in the business. But what about when his back is against the wall? I decided to see how nice Big Dick Doyle when put on the spot by asking him a variety of tough questions. His answers reveal that even the nicest guys have a dark side.
