Really stoked on this for a few reasons:

1) Craig Passero does a 3 to smith with no switch side peg.

2) Chris Z finally took his brakes off and put 4 pegs on.

Charlie is the newest addition to the Albes team and he came with this skate plaza edit from San Marcos, TX to celebrate. Charlie is currently filming for the Stranger video, the OSS video and the new BMXFU DVD so he’ll be a busy boy over the course of the next few months, stoked to see everything going well for him. If you didn’t hear, there are a bunch of new BMXFU shirts in the web store.

Charlie has an interview on Ride where he answers the question of if his freecoaster changed his life:

“Dude, yes! It made riding 1000x more fun and opened up so many possibilities. Old spots became new spots—it’s like you get to have the fun of starting riding for the first time all over again. All of the sudden there is an unlimited amount of new tricks to mess with. Maybe someday I’ll go back to cassette, but the freecoaster is way too much fun. Any time I put my bike down to grab the camera and film something, it’s snatched up quickly by one of the crew who wants to play around on it. I’ve been on the same Coastersaurus since last April and I haven’t touched it and it’s still perfect. I’m probably more surprised than anyone because I’m really hard on hubs—a lot of the stuff involves back pegs and a lot of force. The testing stage is a big deal to Rich and myself so I’ve really tried to be as hard on it as possible to make sure we’re putting something solid out there.”

And why he made the switch from his VX to a DSLR:

“The decision to go to the DSLR was because my VX shit the bed. The CCDs got misaligned from too many camera flips and the footage started coming out as a blue and purple blob. My friend Brad Hill, FU co-filmer, had a Canon 5d mkII that I loved using. The footage just looked insane, I’d never seen anything like it the way he used it. At that point, I’d done four full-length DVDs and hundreds of web edits with my VX and I felt like I was getting burnt out on it and I wanted something new to experiment with. I saved up and bought a Canon T3i setup right before a NYC visit earlier this year and that became the first Guy Stuff trip. I got accustomed to the camera over that week and Craig Passero shot a good portion of his section while we were there. I will probably go back to the VX for an edit here or there once I get mine repaired—just to mix it up. I have ADD so I need to switch it up often to keep from getting bored. With the next video I really want to push it a little further, as far as different cameras are concerned. I’d like to shoot a good bit of film—Super 8 and 16mm (just to give it a different look from the last DVD).”

Brad Hill has a new project out called The Union Press that focuses on the Canadian scene. You can pick up a copy from any shop in Canada that carries stuff from Ten Pack, or we will have copies going out with TCU web store ads soon. We wanted to support the project so we did an OSS (new website!) ad in the zine featuring our man Charlie Crumlish (honorary Canada resident) half cabbing over a bike rack. Brad shot the photo and we’re stoked on how it came out. Macneil has a couple photos of what the cover of the zine and their ad look like so go check that out too.

Charlie has been on a freecoaster since May, and doesn’t expect to be going back to a cassette anytime soon, if ever. I guess he doesn’t want to mix coaster and cassette footage, so he decided to get all his last cassette clips out now. Charlie impresses me every time, and this is no different. I’d say half of this could have been used in “Guy Stuff“, if it wasn’t for the mixing issue.

Charlie Crum420 and the rest of the FU built a ridiculous set up out of pallets behind a random building and then proceeded to get ridiculously tech on it.

Chuck is one of the lucky Americans who gets free DUB stuff and here’s an edit he made for them consisting of his FU5 leftovers. It’s awesome but I’m really stoked for everyone to see all the crazy stuff he cooked up for FU5 as well as the upcoming OSS Denver DVD. If you somehow missed the BMXFU AOTC2 section or the BMXFU Lotek section, make sure to watch those too.

We’re going to be premiering some of the AOTC2 sections over the course of the next few weeks. First up we have the BMXFU section which was filmed out in Boston on a roadtrip. I love this section and it’s probably notable to some of you because this is the first footage of Charlie Crumlish riding a freecoaster even though he’s had it on for like 6 months now.
