Continuing with the Guy Stuff uploads, Subrosa and Defgrip teamed up to premiere Greg D’Amico’s section a few days ago. The embed code is now open, so enjoy. I’m proud of Greg on this one, the ender especially. We stumbled across that setup and Greg didn’t hesitate to send it a few times until he pulled it clean.

Dennis Enarson, who will hence forth be known as Denim Enarson, has a good interview over on Defgrip where he sheds some light on Markit as a brand:

“This is my first time saying this publicly, but it is going to turn into something much more then just a crew. MARKIT will be a Denim company focusing on making quality jeans.”

He also says that the highly anticipated Markit video will be released next year on iTunes.

Defgrip did a gear check with Dave Parrick to see what he’s shooting the long awaited Empire DVD with. Surely all the gear geeks out there (such as myself) will appreciate it.

When it comes to online contest coverage, it’s always a rush to see how fast everyone can get all the wild action up, and the quality seems to be an after thought. It makes sense, because people (for the most part) just want to see what happened as close to live as they can. That said, it certainly is refreshing to see someone take the opposite approach. Nike’s “The Pool” event is nearly two months old; ancient history by the internet’s standards. So why is it even worth it for Defgrip to release their “The Pool” video? Because they aren’t trying to compete with the rest of the pack. Defgrip focused on filming/editing quality and capturing the feel of the event, and I think they nailed it.
