The next item for auction has gone up on eBay. The proceeds of these auctions go to offset the cost of Bryce Toole’s Rippin’ Gypsy trip. Madera/Profile are auctioning off product (sometimes rare product) for each leg of his trip. Bryce is about 600+ deep in the great Smokey Mountains as of this posting. Check back on the Madera site and Bryce’s blog to keep up with his whereabouts. The next auction: a set of Profile Rasta RHD Mini Hubs.
Bryce Toole is leaving on Monday the 31st for a pedaling trip across the US which should take him about 8 months. So awesome, I’ve always wanted to do something like that. The above photo is kinda misleading since he will actually be riding a mountain bike and towing his BMX, but you get the gist of it. For more info on how you can buy some dope parts all while helping Bryce fund his trip, hit the Madera site; and to follow Bryce along his journey, visit his blog. Here’s what he has to say:
“With a cycling trip, it’s about freedom and going with the flow. I have a rough draft of cities to hit along with a bit of direction to be heading but could easily get off the path and rip to other cities and start a new path. The first thing that comes to mind for this trip is to meet the beautiful people out there in these cities–Seeing and documenting these things bring a warm feeling to me that hit me on my first trip down from Pittsburgh to South Carolina via bmx last summer. The trip is going to be by mountain bike but I’ll be bringing the bmx to ride spots along the way. Traversing at an average speed of 15mph, you get to witness things others would over look traveling by automobile. Its going to be hard, joyful, and with yalls help, doable!” – Bryce
Damn, Tom fires out some rather large maneuvers in here.
“Tom Decided to drive to L.A. with me from Tampa and kick it for a few days before we headed to Vegas to film with Chad DeGroot and team Deco/Madera/Profile. We went and hit Downtown L.A. for two short days where Tom did not hesitate to make every trick look like butter, pulling everything first or second try. Be on the lookout for this character, as you will be seeing him a lot more often here soon.” - Matt Coplon
Madera’s new spline drive sprocket, “The Helm” is now available in 25 tooth with 28’s coming in a couple weeks. You can get ‘em in black, black, and black.
