New edit of the whole Verde team including Brian Yeagle, Kevin Kiraly, Ryan Barrett, Jesse Whaley, Dave Thompson & Mike Ardelean. Kevin Kiraly definitely steals the show, you’ll see what I mean courtesy of the last few clips including a ridiculous barspin to Luc-e. Will Stroud put the whole thing together.
I sent Ardelean 5 questions about the new iPath BMX program, of which he is the team manager of, and he answered them. I was going to write some more but he pretty much filled me in, and I’m sure he wouldn’t mind answering some more in the comments or his Q&A thread if need be. Read on. I posted Harrison Boyce’s 411 part the other day and you guys seem stoked on it. Here’s Mike Ardelean’s from the same issue, it’s a pretty funny coincidence that Harrison and Mike ended up becoming good friends after this video came out featuring both their sections. Thanks to Defgrip for the link, and Joe Cookie for the upload. I have all the 411 DVD’s and really want to upload some other parts but have no clue how, I’ll try and work on it tonight.
Jim Bauer is on iPath? I heard a while back that they were starting a BMX team and were talking to some legit dudes to be on the team. I heard Mike Ardelean is helping to organize this. Haters, start your engines!
Also I know iPath have been around longer than the Ipod, but I still feel like I’m talking about something Apple makes every time I type the name.
Mike Ardelean’s got a bike check up on Odyssey. A bike check is well and good, but come on Mike, you know we want to see some new footage (or at least I do)!
Sponsor changes are a funny thing. Most of the time a sponsorship starts as a result of a friendship. But most of the time when a pro changes sponsors, it’s a business decision. Sponsor changes can have huge effects on how the brands as well as the rider involved are percieved by the public… for better or for worse. Usually at the time of the sponsor change it’s hard to predict who wins and who loses (although these things usually aren’t a zero-sum situation and sometimes both parties can win or lose at the same time). With that, I decided to pick a few major sponsor changes of the past few years and offer my analysis. These certainly aren’t the craziest sponsor changes of all time (I lack the history, the perspective and the desire to write such an all-encompassing article) but it’s a start, and it made for a great blog title, haha. If you’ve got some good examples of great/awful/interesting/controversial sponsor changes from the past, let me know about them in the comments! There’s a flip-book feature up on Streetphire that shows off the new Lavar line along with an interview with Aredelean himself. New stuff looks awesome.
