Nigel just put up this picture on Instagram and said that his new prototype frame is almost done. While Nigel’s new company has yet to be officially announced, we can make some bold assumptions based on this photo:

1) Nigel’s new company will, in fact be making frames.

2) Nigel’s new company seems to be “prototyping” these frames prior to their release.

3) Although we aren’t yet sure where they are being made, a close look at this photo shows that the frames are being assembled somewhere with access to wooden tables, tools of some sort and possibly some sort of electronic equipment. Interesting.

4) The frame, contrary to prior rumors, seems to be made of metal, although we’re not yet sure of what kind.

Where you think he’s going? The obvious guess would be Skavenger but the press release below makes it sound like he’s got something more involved in the works. Nigelco?

“Mirraco and team rider Nigel Sylvester will be parting ways in 2012. Nigel was a member of Mirraco’s powerhouse 2011 team of world class riders that included Dave Mirra, Harry Main, Kyle Baldock, Andy Buckworth, and Chris Hughes. “We’re going to miss Nigel. He was a great ambassador for Mirraco, an amazing rider, and a really good guy all rolled into one”, stated Mirraco’s President, Jim Ford. Nigel is leaving Mirraco on good terms after nearly six years of working together.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dave Mirra, Jim Ford and the whole Mirraco staff. It’s been an awesome ride for the past 6 years. I’ve had the opportunity to learn so much, and I’m truly grateful”, commented Nigel Sylvester.”

G-Shock did a video “urban retro-style” (their description) video with Nigel Sylvester titled “1987″, and it sounds like they got Stephen Hawking to do the voiceover work. If you want to see some photos from the making of, or read G-Shock’s pres release, go here.

Check out the feature “Life and Times” did on Nigel. It’s much like many of these videos he has done in the past, but it’s still cool to watch his push into the mainstream continue.

Nigel has an interview on BET where he explains what’s up with the recent #popawheeliefresh campaign he’s been pushing on Twitter:

“I have this movement right now, it’s called “Pop-A-Wheelie Fresh” we’ve got shirts coming out soon and it’s just something for BMX riders that aren’t afraid to look good on their bikes. Sometimes it’s hard to look fresh when you’re outside riding, around, falling down but to a certain extent you can make it look good whether it’s the tricks you’re doing or the clothes you’re wearing. It’s just a whole lifestyle and mind state.”

He also speaks on wack sponsors he’s had to turn down:

“I’m very selective about who I work with I’ve been approached by brands and I’ve told them that that’s not going to work for me. I like to endorse brands I actually use it’s a way easier connection. I have experience with these products and I know how it makes me feel so I can understand how it’ll make someone else feel. It’s very important that I work with brands that are true and that have a good statement and that have good histories –respectable brands. I don’t want to put my name on something that’s wack just ‘cause it’s a good check, that wouldn’t be true to the sport or myself.”

A lot of pros out there could learn from that quote. Check the interview for more info on some work that Nigel is doing with the NYC Department Of Transportation.

Highlight: Nigel hanging out with Pharrel at the end, slurring his words because he’s blatantly trashed.

For the latest “All Day Session”, Nigel headed out to the San Francisco bay area. He starts off by bombing some hills, and then visits some nice rail and ledge spots before visiting a show at the Benny Gold store.

Nigel going hard to promote his Animal x New Era collab hat. Crook up the monument rail to whip was pretty amazing.
