“Ryan Nyquist signed up for Dew Tour Vert this year, making his come back to the big ramp after 9 years. Here is a session at Woodward West where he gets some moves back and has a little fun in the process.”- Haro Bikes
The finals got rained out, but before they did, a few guys got their runs in. Too bad, it would have gotten nuts… not to say this doesn’t have some wild stuff in it.
For those of you that care about contests, this is is turning out to be a good one so far… except for Bjorn Mager and Baz Keep, who both are out with some substantial injuries.
Nyquist gives you a rundown of his Warriors Of Wood contest and shows what the course is going to look like this year. Speak now or forever hold your wood.
“Ryan Nyquist was in the Northeast last week for the Journey’s Backyard BBQ. One night of the trip he cruised up to Rye, New Hampshire to get a quick session in at Rye Airfield. Enjoy this short edit featuring some of the riding that went down.”
Should be interesting to see what Nyquist’s got on the vert ramp these days, I don’t normally pay much attention to the contest scene but I’m interested to see how it turns out.
I think we can all agree that over toothpick and back is pretty crazy but I bet you didn’t know that it is also IMPOSSIBLE. Here, BMXFU flow team rider Ryan Nyquist explains how to do it. Who knows, if we were to re-visit this classic ’90’s era TSG ad maybe we could add the impossible toothpick to this list.
What’s funny about this is how some things always change and some things always stay the same. For instance, I doubt you’d hear Mirra’s name come up if you asked Ryan his favorite riders today, and I doubt you’d see him dying his goatee blue. But on the other hand Nyquist is still rocking for Haro, pretty much every trick Ryan does in this would still get cheers at a contest in 2010 and this proves that gay jokes have been popular in BMX ever since day one.
Not sure the exact date on this but if Ryan was 18 at the time, then it must have been filmed in approximately 1997 if the birthday on Nyquist’s Wikipedia page is correct. Either way it appeared in Props 22.
Nyquist sent over the flyer for his upcoming Warriors Of Wood contest which includes artwork by his brother Shea. Check it in full after the jump. Continue reading Warriors Of Wood Flyer. >
