Sometimes companies email me with their new product color. And I think to myself, is this really news? I don’t give a fuck if you paint your shit neon brown, TCU posts are reserved for important shit like Ian Schwartz’s sex life and Karl Poynter’s cat. It’s different with Subrosa, at least a little bit, since they’ve been so devoted to black and white for most of their existence, although this isn’t the first time they’ve gone outside the box color-wise.
Miles went out to San Diego for a weekend and made an edit out of the festivities with the Subrosa crew. Featuring Hoang Tran, Kyle Hart and Lahsaan Kobza.
Just saw these while checking out the new Subrosa “Bitchin BB” which you can check out after the jump. Looks like a similar design to the Eclat cranks.
Someone who posts as KaFreE sh!tbird on TCUB managed to find some pictures and specs on 2 of the new Subrosa frames that I’m pretty sure haven’t been online yet… Above is the upcoming Villicus (Hoang Tran’s signature frame). Check the details plus photos of the new Pandora here.
A few years back after leaving The Take, the rumor was that Mulville was going to be on Subrosa but he ended up riding for Deluxe instead. Apparently things have come full circle as he is the new addition to the team. Definitely a good choice… here’s what Subrosa had to say:
“That’s right. Longtime friend, and badass all around rider Mark Mulville has joined the Subrosa pro team. I’ve been really psyched on Mark forever, and we finally in a position to do some big things with him. He’ll be joining us on team trips this year, as well as having a full part in our first DVD “Get Used To It”, and we’ve begun working on his signature frame. Web edit, bike check, and interview with Mark coming this week to the site.”
There are also a bunch of good photos on the site. Ryan told me the other day that there will be one addition to the pro team soon, but wouldn’t say who.
UPDATE: Moments after I posted this, I got an email from Deluxe where they speak on Mark leaving. They handle it in a very classy way, it’s worth reading just to see how a bike company ought to handle themselves in a situation like this.
Just spotted on Twitter that Vince has moved on from Subrosa. Pretty sure I know what he’s doing but I’m waiting on confirmation before I post it.
Previously: Vince Kroff Bombin’ B Street
UPDATE: The “Pretty sure I know what he’s doing” was originally intended to infer that he was on Stranger (everyone in the comments was clearly thinking the same thing) but I asked Rich and he said that that is not the case.
