“Van Homan is officially home recovering from his skull fracture, that he sustained last month during X Games street practice. After spending a couple scary days in the ICU, he was released and is expected to make a full-recovery. He wasn’t allowed to fly home, so Van and his wife Samantha had to drive all the way back across the country to New Jersey. Now resting up, Van said he won’t be able to ride again until November but is super happy to be home. More good news is that Van had some time from his busy schedule now, and filled out his bike check for us. So sit back, and take a personal tour of Van’s Fit setup, courtesy of Van himself.”
Two By Four have some news about the big man Van Homan’s status after suffering a head injury at the X Games:
“I had a pretty rough slam out at the X-Games this year which lead to a week stay in the hospital. I’m back home now and healing up nice. Thanks to everyone for the support! Before the crash, I did manage to hang out with some of the Two by Four crew and have some good times. Cody, Geoff and Dehart where all out west for the event. Geoff rode in the park competition which, was of course a treat. Check out the pics to share some of the fun.”
The above photo doesn’t really have much to do with the post, but Cody Jennings making love in the club is probably more visually appealing than Van posted up in bed. Glad to hear he’s doing okay. Check out more photos of the Two By Four crew hanging out at X Games here.
Straight off the Orchid site: “You probably heard by now that Van Homan hit his head in X-Games street practice, which put him out of the event. So instead of medals at summer X, he gets a nice relaxing hospital stay. I got some news from Van’s wife Samantha so I thought I’d share. Sounds like he’s doing better. “We are in the ICU, he’s got a skull fracture and a little bit of bruising and a tiny bit of blood on the brain. He’s responsive just tired and antsy. They should be moving him into regular care tomorrow.” Get well soon Van!”
This really kind of draws attention to exactly how ridiculous the G Sport team is now after all the recent additions. Van Homan, Dakota Roche, Andrew Jackson, Dave Thompson and Randy Brown all kill it in this little number.
I heard that the Two By Four location in Philly opened roughly a year ago had closed so I messaged Van to make sure. Here’s his commentary on the store’s closing, the future of Two By Four and his current opinions on the state of hip hop:
“Ok yeah so we closed up the Philly store. Kind of a bummer but hopefully its a step backwards to take two steps forward. Basically the Philly store just wasn’t doing enough business. We were losing money every month so we had to pull the plug. Although it sucks to not have something in Center City I think its going to be better for Two by Four over all. We are working on making the NJ location even stronger. Its already getting a nice make over and inventory is beefing up. The goal is to have one store that has everything instead of two watered down versions. We will continue to do events here at the NJ location and have plans to do some things in Philly even with the absence of the store. We have been working hard on a new website/online store so pay attention for a new look over at TwobyFourStore.com. The new site will be hitting the www May 10th so set your bookmarks now. Thanks to everyone that supported the Philly store. We really appreciate it. Hopefully we will still be seeing all you guys. Van Homan
PS Gucci Mane sucks. The Fabolous mixtape is amazing.”
Gucci Mane’s the best and Fab’s mixtape sucked, but keep in mind Van is now 30 years old and very, very white so please don’t hold his statements here against him! Seriously though best of luck to him, there’s nothing wrong with small failures if you learn from them and they help you get where you’re going in the long run.
Here’s the Two By Four roadtrip from the new Props. It runs a bit long, but it’s pretty enjoyable if you ask me. Cody Jennings trying that tire ride to 180 over and over is classic, especially Chase D’s commentary. Part 2 is after the jump.
“This week we bring you Issue 75’s TwoByFour road trip that took place in November of 2009. The trip started out in Pennsville, NJ and made it’s way down the East Coast, stopping in Manasses, Richmond, Raleigh, and ending in Greenville, SC. With Captain Van Homan steering the ship, the TwoByFour crew rode, laughed and partied as any group of tight knit friends would.”
