Agree whole-heartedly. Given a22′s statement the other day, it was like he was this innocent victim of a horrible system. What it looked like was a kid goes into the emergency room with a bunch of his know-nothing, instigating, wise-ass friends who hassle the nurses under a veil of care for their friend. The nurses did nothing but try to appease everyone. a22 and the rest of these chuckleheads should have never made it past the waiting room. He refuses to provide triage with requested information, refuses to cut off his past hospital bracelets, and there is an idiot filming the whole thing on camera in a confidential environment. My favorite part is when a22, who supposedly cares for Platt, tucks his tail but as he’s walking out, says to his skull-fractured friend, “Alex, we should get out of here.” This is all only punctuated by Platt checking himself out AMA of the next hospital. They should all be grateful they have a place to go when they get hurt.

I work in one of the highest known medical offices in ohio. That lady was horrible at her job, she was very very shitty, and rude. If he had head trauma he should of been taken for a ct scan almost right away when walking through the doors. It may have been unusual for her to have a group of guys and a video camera but, that just proved she was shitty at her job, the cop was way out of line, and if i were you guys id send this shit to fox news hahaha and let the debate begin…Head trauma is always unpredictable, and she stated she would make sure he was fine, haha she was just a peon. she dont know shit.

What people don’t understand is that Platt’s surliness was a direct result of a head injury. I have worked with brain injured people for years. If that woman was properly trained for her job as triage nurse she would know the signs and put him through right away.

That being said. Despite your appearance, one’s abililty to speak and conduct themselves accordingly regardless of oppression will win out in most scenarios even when dealing with incompetent people.

Had one spoken up and asked for the officers name and badge number asking for a reason for his surliness he would have to repond accordingly. Citing Platt’s irritability and uncooperativeness as direct indicators of major head trauma and concussion which is well documented and becoming more common knowledge would make the nurses rethink their own approach.

As a Registered Nurse, I have to say I found the triage nurse’s attitude shockingly unprofessional, VERY rude and completely uncalled for!!! I don’t care how “silly” a patient or his friends are acting, medical professionals are to always take control of the environment of the ER, maintain professional attitudes, act competently, and are obligated to treat any patient following strict and specific hospital protocols!

We are trained to deal with these types of situations and how to handle them when things get crazy. I’m sure her supervisor and the hospital’s administration would be very interested in seeing this video footage. It will likely result in harsh disciplinary action, deservedly so!

Knowing you had a serious head injury, she put your life and health in danger, and put the hospital in a potentially messy legal situation. Shame on this nurse for making us all look BAD! The cop was a total tool, also. Very unprofessional and hot headed.

I’m glad you’re okay and hope you “use” your head next time. Next time this happens, you may not be that lucky. How about investing in a full face helmet for starters?
