Almond Website Up & New Promo Video.

The Almond website is now up. If you’re not aware, Almond is a new shoe brand owned by the same guys who run We The People and Eclat. Details are scarce but they do have a Facebook and a weird Tumblr with a bunch of random Polaroids. There’s also a video on their website, and if you recognize the dudes in it they might be future team members, but personally I don’t know.

    The bmx specific shoe bar has been set pretty low. As long as these can last longer than a month or are not retarded colorways than they have my vote.

    I think the art direction is cool, the edit was different and benson being invloved can only be a good thing in my eyes… but from what i’ve seen of the shoes they just look like orchids.

    Why can no-one make something closer to a reynolds 3 / francis mid / hsu / half cab / fallen mid etc etc i’d say other than the new shreddie all bmx shoes up untill now have been like three years outta date or the other end of the scale and their trying to sell you a deck shoe to drop a stair set in… say goodbye too your heels in that case.

    Untill then i’ll keep buying shoes off people that hate us, but i guess i kinda understand.

    the amount of money needed to create your own sole is redic. That is why the BMX co’s are so limitd. Back in the day etnies only had a sole or tow. They grew with time, and skaters helped them grow and they helped skating grow in return. If you little shits put your money back into riding, we would have more push in everything from being allowed in parks, to making a living off of riding which is close to impossible for 90% of professional bike riders.
