not to mention, goodluck explaining something like a gyro to thousands of people that A) don’t care and/or B) can’t ask further questions, assuming you want drew to go into detail about what exactly a gyro does. or he could just get the point across and leave it at that… oh. hold on.

    “pretty painfully lame”

adam, stop hating on anybody who doesn’t do a feeble to 180 off some street ledge, just because you can’t ride park doesn’t mean you have to talk mad shit to people who kill it.

I don’t understand you, Adam. This is BMX going mainstream. Once you said you didn’t have anything against it and now you’re complaining about this being lame?

I mean, non BMXers shouldn’t speak of BMX and thus BMX should remain an underground sport/discipline/subculture/whatever or it is better for BMX to get more funds and be way more exposed in the media than it is today thus losing its underground-only look?

Of course, both have their side-effects:
    - BMX staying underground = no-one knowing about BMX bikes (i.e. stereotypes like “why are you riding such a small bike?”) + not as many funds as if BMX would go mainstream (less skateparks; no real interest in not plowing trails, demolishing street spots, etc; less understanding when riding a street spot, etc)

    - BMX going mainstream = more exposure making it sometime look lame, more kids in BMX (that’s a pro and a con at the same time).

I want you to blog about this.

I think Adam22 is probably bipolar. Always talking about how riding should be creative and different, but anytime something different from the usual flat-ledges and barspins in some poorly done edit come out hes the first to criticize.

  • http://Website joey

I think adam was referring to how lame the segment was, not the riding or that fact that its on national television.
Daily Planet could have very well brought Catfish/someone able to deal with press to talk with the host rather than putting Drew on the spot.

“hey, you’re a professional bmxer, you must have adequate linguistic and tv interview skills.”
