Mark Webb: Transatlanticism

Mark Webb talks about injuries, the differences between contests in Europe and the USA, and the importance of doing well in the Dew Tour. “Transatlanticism” also has plenty of Mark riding a concrete park, and some contest footage sprinkled in as well.

Man BMX is so commercial these days. How videos are filmed, the music, the emotion… Forget that sh*t, get the hyped up music and filming back. Show crashes at the end of the video as raw footage.

Yea, Mark would be way radder if he did some hang fives on a foot tall ledge and maybe tailwhipped off a 7 stair to a flat ground 3. Jeez Mark, why don’t you do your own thing or do something progressive.

this might be going out on a bit of a limb, but i think what proliferated so much of the shittiness in videos is riders who havent the slightest clue about filming, picking up cameras and attempting to copy what they’ve been seeing for as long as they can remember. times that by 10-15yrs and thousands of videos and people think thats how riding videos are “supposed” to look. thats what bothers me most; people dont bother thinking outside the box because they’re already shitting out videos that look like the stuff they’ve been watching forever, so they think they’ve already arrived. its obvious that every video cant be of simon-esque quality, but i’d much rather see people working towards something instead of wallowing in an overcrowded pool of complacency.

“Jeez Mark, why don’t you do your own thing or do something progressive.”

Really? Thats your comment? Fuckin douche-fag… Mark has bought a lot of new shit to the table in his time in BMX. It really isnt my style of BMX but theres no denying it, that kid breaks new ground all the time, where he leads others ie. Harry Main, Alex Coleborn etc follow…
