Rick Thorne Grinds & Rhymez Tour.

This is pretty cool actually because it shows you Rick’s motivation for why he still does what he does. A lot of you might have artistic differences with Rick, but I respect that he’s been able to make a good living at this BMX shit after all these years without ever being particularly gnarly on a bike.

Needless to say, this is much better than that other video of the tour we posted. Dude who produced it seriously blacked out in the comments with killer quotes like:

“It was edited to be more of a mixtape in hip hop standards a culture mist of you is unfamiliar with. Get used to it cause it’s not gonna stop. And don’t bite style because most of these bids posted here are clean but boring and the same.”

I’ve been listening to hip hop my entire life, and never til now knew that rap music was all about not using the zoom feature on your camera.

“I’m going to introduce a photographic stile that will be heavily borrowed due to a lack of openmindedness on this site and the sport.”

Here I was thinking Joe Simon and Navaz were the filmers to copy in BMX. Nope! This photographic stile is bound to become heavily borrowed.

“I wasn’t doing this video for just BMXer I did this video as new form of expression as it relates to hip hop. I’m still not convinced that the come down is relevant in the sport. They hate even on guys who are ridiculous. PS the riders were just amatuer kids and I’m sure there level is beyond most people leaving comments. BMX is also Art Fashion Lifestyle more deep than just your infactuation with Tricks.”

Shame on all of us for our infactuation with mysteriously capitalized Tricks!

Best part is that after defending his video like he had just written the fucking Quaran of BMX contest filming, he took it down. I guess the reality of 100+ negative comments (not just on here either) was just too much to ignore. The funny part to me, when people accuse me of perpetuating negativity in BMX, is that shit talk on wack shit like this always makes for some of the most fun comments sections! Real riders fuck with us and we don’t give a fuck who don’t.

    grimey

im not one to usually agree with agam, but the guy who made that one video was seriously retarded. if he ever tried to defend his filming/editing to my face in real life i wouldnt even bother arguing, i would just lay him the fuck out and hope that knocks some sense into his thick skull

There’s too much to say about this. For one, they should have cut the microphone about 20 seconds in to his whole “rap” about “expressing himself” through his band and through riding and all that crap. He just kept rambling on about absolute bullshit, “ohhh expression this, expressing that” I feel that people use that word so freely about nothing when they don’t know what their talking about just because they’ve heard others use it so many times. These big companies are so out of touch with extreme sports in general. Why do they sponsor these wash-up douches like Rick Thorne? They clearly know nothing about the sport and only support him because of his big mouth and his image. Ahhhh I’m just gonna stop there.

I don’t understand how this guy still gets coverage, it’s beyond me.

Rap in BMX has got to be gayer than sucking two dicks while complaining about an indian giver.

hate this kind of shit, do people really think that if you can do more trics, than your opinion means more and is supreme to other opinions. who ever wrote that is an utter idiot

adam you wouldn’t know hip hop if it indian gived right into your face so don’t say shit about hip hop…we all know the crap you listen to, it is NOT hip hop. While Thorne seems like an uneducated twat he makes some valid points, like is thecomeup relevant? 95% of riders take this site as a joke and think adam is a joke, which is probably his aim, nonetheless does TCU really do anything other than generate revenue for the sport? Personally i would like to see more blogs like defgrip promoting a deeper side to the sport than image judgement. Seeing as far you have got adam why don’t you use your power within the industry to do some cool original shit with it? There are enough tools out there pushing wood we don’t need more tools crankin scrap metal

What i wanna know is how he found another three equally dumb idiots to be in “his” band… WTF

  • http://threeark.com Threeark!

Can’t say I’m a fan of his riding or his band, or even the way he portrays himself but the guy is promoting BMX to kids more than most. If that gets a few kids stoked on riding then I say he’s not all bad.

  • http://Website preston

the two stops of this tour I experienced were nothing like how he describes in his video.

his band is just… awful. it’s beyond words how bad they are.

people don’t talk shit on you because you left the bmx industry. people talk shit on you because you’re a fucking tool. thanks for the free monster and free fs&s shirt. i still haven’t taken it out of the plastic, one year later.
