    Its cool that they are trying something new but it doesnt really make a whole lot of sense to spend all that money hiring dudes, buying the supplies and working for weeks to essentially make a dirt style course out of wood. If you are gonna make doubles may as well just have yet another dirt contest. Also as everyone has already pointed out… plywood edges arent very forgiving… people are gonna get broke.

    Contest would have been, and will be made out of dirt next year, but the city requires a year’s advance notice to move that much dirt. The compromise was to do a wood contest this year and it is gonna be amazing.

    1. The contest was supposed to be dirt (which was going to be given to us for free, and later used for a dirt BMX park at the stadium), but the City was going to require changes to the General Plan and whatnot, and, in the meantime, the dirt would have to be removed, which was going to cost something like 35k.

    2. Home Depot supplied the wood at cost. The wood is going to be stored for the time being, and will eventually be set up in a Real Ride-style warehouse skatepark.
